Forums - Sales - MLB the Show one of Sony's most important IPs?

Sony has less than half the userbase of the 360 in America yet it managed to sell more(by 1 to 2 thousand) baseball games than the 360 first week. With that information you'd have to assume that a very large percentage (80-90%) of PS360 owners that bought a baseball game went with the PS3's and it was mostly because of MLB The Show. Either that or MLB The Show had already help persuade many baseball fans to buy a PS3 instead of a 360.

Either way that is a lot of revenue that the PS3 is bringing in and stealing away from MS because of MLB The Show.

Other IP's may sell more than The Show but they don't single handidly push consoles and steal revenue away from the competition like The Show does, they are more just a small piece of the library puzzle.

Does anyone else think this IP is much more important to Sony than their overall sells may lead one to believe? Or do you think Sony should be using the San Diego studio to be making other games? Discuss!
