There were limited offers in Europe too. If I remember correctly, GameStop Italy had 5000 units for 200 euros, and they said until stock dried up. There might have been others too.

The price cut will help in Q3 and Q4 but Q2 numbers will be damn low shipment wise.

Wii is DOWN 3,381,629 units from 2008!  =(

Note: This was Wii's second worst week ever WorldWide and its worst week ever in Japan. Next week sales should be up, but not by a large amount since the price cut is not WW for the whole week. Sales should still be down weekly YoY the year next week. Perhaps in 2 weeks sales could be flat from last year or maybe up. Still, the 3.4 million deficit will be hard to overcome to post a positive YoY final figure.

They might not make up the deficit calendar YoY but they will pull up for Fiscal YoY which has been their strategy this whole time. 

If you plan to make another thread such as this one for next year (does Crazzyman really need 2 tributes though?) you'll see the first 3 months riding much higher than the first 3 months of this year.

I don't think they will pull up for the FY deficit, it's 4.25 million down so far.

I would bet that, like other things Wii, the price-cut won't be very top-heavy in it's reception. There'll be a big boost, to be sure, but not comparable to the PS3's, but it may last longer than PS3's sustained boost (though that will be harder to map, as PS3 is getting some big software in soon)
