I think you're reading the 2009 and the 2008 numbers backwards....

 



PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

That 50% is slipping further and further away.

It looks like maybe we might have a fight with all three consoles in the generation involved! I guess thats the bright side.

50% looks difficult now, mainly because of the good performance the 360 is having, as PS3 is not doing any good at all.

I guess we have to wait and see, the next 6 months will be critical for the relative future of all three systems. Will the Wii's decline end? Will the PS3s decline end? Will the Xbox 360s increase endure, infact can the system increase for 5 years running? These are some serious and interesting questions to answer.

Note: At the current rate, Wii might end up selling less than or similar to what it sold during 2007. If WSR fails to provide a significant and longlasting boost, it may happen. Then it's up to Nintendo to lower the Wii price or whatever they want to do if they still expect 26 million Wii sold by March 2010.
