Hm... Well... I want Sonic & The Black Knight, but before you suggest anything:
- I am a sonic fan, and a member of the Sonic Support Squad. Don't bash Sonic in general.
And an awesome one at that.
- I am a long-time Sonic fan, and Sonic3K was my favorite...
2 for 2!
- DIMPS FTW! SR was awesome...
You're on a roll (I loved the Sonic Advance and Rush series as well)!
- I absolutely LOVED Secret Rings, more than SA2... possibly more than SA1...
Hm, that's a very interesting point... (As did I).
- Although I still haven't beaten it yet due to the accuisition of newer games, I thought the daytime sections of Unleashed were amazing, and the game overall was good, the Werehog sucked, and has kept me from finishing the game as of yet...
Same here, the werehog levels are just too... unlike Sonic (which is some of the criticisms of Black Knight, which I disagree with). I still need to beat the game!
- I actually, to an extent, liked Shadow The Hedgehog... I beat it all the way through, I liked it, and the gunplay made it fun (I avoided vehicles) but in order to beat the repeating levels (the exact same path over again w/ a diff. ending), I got my brother to beat them for me... So that game isn't as god-awful to me as everyone said it was
Never played it.
- I HATED SONIC '06. That game was garbage. I bought it for $10 on clearance, just to see how bad it was, and it was pretty damn close... I ended up beating it, and I have only played the multiplayer about 5 times and shown off its terrible-ness and never touched it again...
Never played that one either (and I don't intend to...).

Thanks for the PM LCEC, and thanks for letting me throw my two cents in this pickle you're in.
If you really liked Secret Rings and Unleashed's Daytime levels, even moreso than Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, then I would recommend getting Sonic & the Black Knight. The game seems to be a combination between the two games (Unleashed and Secret Rings), and it works out pretty darn well. From Secret Rings, it takes the camera style (doesn't switch to 2D like in Unleashed), special meter bar (which is great), and the whole "storybook" story (which I'm sure you're well informed). From Unleashed, it takes Sonic's daytime control scheme and speed, and the Werehog's nighttime baddy brawling.
All in all, it can end up being a mixed bag, especially with the uninspired "waggle" controls (I do hate using Waggle, but that's what it ends up being when it comes to basic sword controls). Still, the speed is there... which feels great. Both the action and the footwork is fast and (mostly) painless. So yeah, I would recommend a rental if nothing else. I'm playing and more importantly enjoying the game (Shadow, Knuckles, and Blaze are playable in the game. Knuckles is awesome... so awesome.
), and I think you would too.
Cheers, and happy gaming.
