and how should i deal with the golem and fireball when they are together?

i only came across some mages when i was running through the levels, so i havent fought them yet.

i have no problem taking out the scorpions with my hammer...but my pets seem to enjoy getting poisoned and dying.

The easiest way (although this isn't always possible) is to confront them where there are stairs, as their projectile attacks go straight, but never UP. This lets you isolate them, as even when they're just a few feet from you their attacks won't touch you.

Since they're rarely near stairs, though, I often wound up just running past those gates, because they're a REALLY nasty combination. You'll find that there are monsters that are easier to fight AND give you more exp. a bit further down (the birds and minotaurs on the fourth and fifth level are juicy prey).

Random question: On the startup screen, under memories, the slot for the second movie sequence is empty for me. About half of the rest are present without misses (the story does seem pretty linear).

Is this second movie something from the very beginning that I missed, or is it still coming?

The axe is really pissing me off. Is there any way to consume less RP with the stomps?? I'm at level 20 at logging and still takes a lot of RP to cut just one stomp

Honestly, I haven't unlocked that one either yet. But I haven't married yet, or had a kid, and it's still Winter, so there are plenty of chances to fill it in.

Yes: everytime you level up your axe, it consumes less RP than before. I estimate that a level 5 axe uses a little less than half the RP of a level 1 axe. So just save up your high-level scrap iron.

i hate these stupid plants in the dungeons.

Treat the plants the opposite of how you treat most enemies, and just rush them: most hits interrupt their attacks, so any quick-strike weapon will make short work of them. Hammers may be a bit more problematic, but if you dodge the first attack and don't use your SP attack the first time, you should be fine.

my pet wolf is pretty dumb too. i hoe some of the dirt away in front of a boulder and he jumps in front of the boulder killing him instantly.

Sounds about right, actually. The good news is that the other dungeons don't have anything so fatal, although there are some traps that will still hurt them pretty bad.
