Is it all dungeons you can plant in for any season's crops or just whale island?

Hah thanks.  I plan to take a crack at it after my girlfriend is done with Animal Crossing.  Which I liked... but honestly I like my house how it is.   The bigger ones are so unmmanagable.

I've always wanted to get a Harest Moon type game but they all seemed to be missing one element.  I hope the dungeon aspect is that.

Just Whale Island: all others have a specific season only. Green Ruins=Spring, Lava Ruins=Summer, Snow Ruins=Fall.

They're not THAT bad.

Not compared to the other monsters that that hellhole throws at you. How you're supposed to dodge some of those projectiles is beyond me...Oh, and make sure to bring a fire rod with you for later levels!

Yes and yes: the story is told incrementally (I've barely touched it after forty-five hours), but there's plenty of ARPG goodness if you're into that type of thing. Or you can skip most of the combat and plot, if you want.

But where's the fun in that...?

I've put in like 32 hours into this game already and I'm a few days away from Fall...I can't even imagine how long it will take me to get all upgrades and weapons and all skills to 99 0.o
Crap, this will be the longest single player game I've ever played (I wonder if it'll be longer than A Wonderful Life, which I never finished)

And someone is actually in a second playthrough? How long was the story?
I don't know if I'll play it again once I beat it. I might in the summer. And I'll marry Eunice then XD

Alright, not sure how many of you are still curious, but I just found a shortcut on Whale Island that shaves off 2-3 hours.

Go past the gates near Iris' tower, to the next area (with the poisonous ponds). In the upper left hand corner of the place you'll find a wall that has sparkles coming off it: hit the wall with a SP hammer attack to bring it down. This opens up a passage to the first room in the cave.

I have found the passage you're speaking of, and also there is a rope in the castle area that you can let down to allow yourself to pass immediately from the first area into the Castle.
