@mrstickball
if MGS4/Halo 3/SMG had 86% they would've been bashed to death
you know this as do I
for a sequel to Re4
86% imo = bad reviews
but I still said the word mild reviews

@OP
I'm with you all the way. These new "resident evil" games make me ill.
"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)
"WAR is a racket. It always has been.
It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler
Bah! I don't know what happened to popular opinion around here. Anyone who not only disliked RE4, but said that it made them ill....
Well, I can never trust that opinion again. It's just so contrary to the goddamn truth, imo.
RE4 is damn near at the top of my "greatest games ever made" list. How in the hell could anyone want to go back to the tank based control schemes, and the godaweful backtracking key system of the original, point and click style games.
You found the yellow key. Now you can open the yellow door. My ass.
Also, Benga, the REmake along with CV:X are the two best RE games out there besides 4. Comparing the very best that the genre has ever had to offer isn't fair(REmake and RE4 are two different genres, and they are both still the "best" of what their genres have to offer). Compare it to RE3. Do you really want to go back to that? Wouldn't is be destroyed by most critics?
With RE4, Capcom made a revolution of gaming, and a magnificent masterpiece. There wouldn't be a Dead Space OR a Gears of War, in their current form, without that game. None of you would deny that, I'm sure. The developers have said as much. How can one move backwards, to an antiquated design, and destroy all the progess they have made as a series. It's like you guys want mario and zelda to move back to 2d. Because RE4 was just as big of a leap as OOT or M64 were to those series' and just as important to gaming as a whole.
RE4 makes you sick? Give me a f'n break. I hate humanity.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
I hate those camera fixed angles from the early series. Those series dont have great replay value. They werent even scary just plain annoying.
Tbh I didn't really mind those "tank controls" as people say, and I'm sure a lot of others agree, the remake of the first resident evil on the Gamecube was like a dream come true for me , I actually Bought a Gamecube for that game and then bought resident evil zero which was also amazing , they had the same game play same camera angles but with better graphics and controls , What id like to see is another resident evil made in that same style with better graphics and controls for the ps3 and xbox, sod these stupid spin off's and fake zombie shit
nah the old resident evils where great but the game has to move with the different gens.zombies are 2 slow to have as enemies and umbrella is a biological weapons development company always doing research.if they stuck with zombies people would get bored and the story would go no where.
"Obedience Breeds Discipline, Discipline Breeds Unity, Unity Breeds Power, Power is Life".
Remember the Umbrella Corp. motto and slogan on Dr. Marcus' tape that played his eerie voice, by his painting in the main hall of the staff training facility in RE0? Capcom should make a Resident Evil game set in the mid 1960s, where you can play as the mansion architect George Trevor (before he dies). It would be a "REmake styled" survival horror game with a classic Half Life/Lucas Arts feel to it.
"Investigating" Ozwell E. Spencer and Dr. Marcus could be really interesting as we would see first hand the corruption, greed and lunacy at the very beginning.
Reference below:
(3:05 for the painting and 3:38 for Marcus' voice)

I think all RE games with the exeption of 4 were horrible. They were neither scary nor fun and have some of the poorest game design I have ever encountered. IMO they were (and still are) terrible TERRIBLE games. Putting zombies back in the game and making it more atmospheric and such would be fine, but if they go back to using those stupid camera angles and that retarded control scheme then the franchise can go back to festering in mediocrity.

ok..I'll bite.
Let me guess. You don't like Lucas Arts point and click games, old school tactical games, Myst and similar games? Many of us Resident Evil fans do. We know good gameplay when we see it!

I did not like the older RE games, neither did I enjoy the remake or 0 and this is largely to what I found to be one of the most unwieldy and poorly thought out controls schemes of all time. If you have bad controls then that’s already bad obviously, but it’s simply unforgivable in a survival horror game as it kills immersion and when something lacks immersion then it can neither frighten you, nor invoke any emotional response at all. When something with the remotest potential to frighten would appear I would be staring at the control pad in frustration wondering what kind of moron would design a control layout so hideous. I can JUST about cope with fixed camera angels but combined with the control scheme mad the games neigh on unplayable for me and you can say ‘well maybe you just suck at games’ and perhaps I do then, but still something clearly went very wrong in that area during production.
With the switch to the over the shoulder view; the series became fun for the first time. I was slightly annoyed at the inability to move and shoot and run button remaining (seriously this is why we have analogue sticks!) but the game was so much more of a joy to play. If they put in more elements from the older games; Zombies, sparse ammo, Brocken glass freak-out etc... I’m all for that, but I think the series should say in over the shoulder view and perhaps someday someone at Capcom will be smart enough to remove the bloody run button! Oh and I love the Monkey Island games and I played Myst quite a lot back in the day (although I don’t think it’s aged very well) and I simply ADORE X-Com.
