no, PS4 is comming, when we don't know, what it'll use of its internals is already being debated, but I think it's safe to say that it'll use the more power version of cell which is CELL 2 along with more SPU cores, a crap load more ram and an Nvidia graphics chip so as to maintain backward computability, and not to mention a blu-ray drive with x8 speed, and an ability to read those 400GB discs, in the event that something actually uses that much, and of course a standard hard drive, most likely 100GB+.

so all in all it's doable at a much cheaper price than the PS3 was, cuz if they go with what i said, the components will be already cheap as they are already on the market, there's nothing new to push, unlike CELL and blu-ray on the PS3.

Well that's my opinion.

The era of the system-seller as we know it is over. Even the heaviest-hitting franchises like Halo 3 and GTA4 can only be traced back to about a quarter-million units before it all fades back into the normal growth curve.

People just don't buy systems like that anymore. They get the systems well before their favorite software is released, tiding themselves over with whatever comes out at launch. Why they do this, I don't know; perhaps the high price tag drives them to think of these consoles as "investments" or something. But the proof is in the numbers: most people who wanted these games got them long before the game's release. It's great for early sales, but it means that after the big initial push you are essentially done; no other major market shift is coming to save you.

System seller will always exist.

360 sold cause people wanted Gears and Halo, most will buy a console long before the games they want come out. I sure as hell did not wait for GT3 and FF10 when buying my PS2

Sony paid all this money to make the PS3 "future proof". If it doesn't out last the 360 by a year or two it will have failed in this mission. I can't wait for the 720 with bluray then they can finaly start making games with Bluray in mind and the 720 can get PS3 ports.

At the blu ray comment - not likely. Nintendo have always used their own proprietry format for games, I see no reason why they would change that now. Ms has spent alot of money weakening Sony, they're not going to turn around and spend money propping Sony up. Except the 720 to have a disc drive based on HD-DVD tech

And no, the PS3 is completely unable to hold up to the 720. It is slightly more powerful than the 360 (albeit harder to program for) The Wii2 and the 720 will be so much more powerful than the PS3

720 sure but wii 2 wont even have 360 power, after the GC to wii change wtf make you think wii2 will have any real power ?

The current business model is to use the latest economical technology.  People who say the wii doesn't have the latest tech do not understand technology.  Nintendo's model is leading edge commodity components and Sony's was bleeding edge.

Basically you can double performance for the same cost every 3 years.  So, when the wii 2 comes out it will probably have double the performance of the 360 but still be economical.

Add-ons have never worked and Sony has always been the one to push new technology so I think it's safe to say that there will be a PS4 and rightly so.

I agree with jlauro, Nintendo were dealing in high end techology with the N64 and GC, and then transitioned into low end technology for the Wii. So now they will stay in the low end for the Wii2.

Note that the Wii is considerably more powerful than the most powerful 6th gen console. Therefore the Wii2 will be considerably more powerful than the most powerful 7th gen console
