it would go agianst their curret business model.

The current business model is to use the latest economical technology.  People who say the wii doesn't have the latest tech do not understand technology.  Nintendo's model is leading edge commodity components and Sony's was bleeding edge.

Basically you can double performance for the same cost every 3 years.  So, when the wii 2 comes out it will probably have double the performance of the 360 but still be economical.

 

 

I agree with jlauro, Nintendo were dealing in high end techology with the N64 and GC, and then transitioned into low end technology for the Wii. So now they will stay in the low end for the Wii2.

 

Note that the Wii is considerably more powerful than the most powerful 6th gen console. Therefore the Wii2 will be considerably more powerful than the most powerful 7th gen console
