Sry but you simply fail, when you bring up CoD 3 while I'm talking about CoD and CoD4. There is just no excuse.

Sorry, but I cannot compare those because I haven't played CoD. It was dumbed down for consoles in third.

About those games:
I wouldn't count Bioshock because it's not a true sequel, spin-off whatever (EA owns the System Shock IP) - Still debatable.
Fallout 3 was influenced by Bethesda and has not much to do with the previous games, so of course they made it similar to Oblivion.

Well, it is true that both of those don't have much common to previous games, but anyway those are more or less sequals for those series.

I'm playing games for 13-14 years. Should I mention that I don't like most indie games ?

I guess thats why you are console player in first place. ;)

For you I'll repeat myself in regards of controls in FPS: "It requires more skill for a console gamer to reach the average skill of a PC gamer."
That everybody with a mouse can beat everybody with a controller is bogus.

Skill? Uhm, you said it yourself. Mouse is better as you need to practice a lot with controller to be able to beat average PC gamer with mouse. Most console shooters do have autoaim & other stuff to help poor console players as controllers are so poor with fps games. You are right about that everybody with mouse can't beat everybody with controller. I am quite sure that you can beat 1 year old baby in fps, if you use controller. However if you play against anyone who has played at least some fps games(with mouselook of course) on PC you get owned and fast with controller.

EDIT: I don't know why you're always bitching about Oblivion.

Because that game sucks and hard.

The average strategy game died a long time ago.

Google for Stardock for example. :)

Everything changes, that's the same reason why Point & Click Adventures became niche games. And guess what - I'm glad about it. P&C Adventures were cool a long time ago when you couldn't make complex open worlds and tell epic storylines.

Lol, I find this comment about complex open worlds etc. very funny as you seem to be more console gamer. Anyway point & click adventure games aren't dead or they haven't become even niche games. You just don't hear about them a lot as they are not for (stupid) masses.

Sorry, they aren't that dead. )

I repeat my question again, because it is important in this matter. If you cannot see how, I am not sure why should I even try anymore.

Can you show me even one game on HD consoles that require more thinking than average 10-years old can do? :)

pc and consoles have similar games, so saying that console games are for babies is just stupid. besides how can you say that console gamers are dumber than pc gamers?

CoD 3 was not made by the same developer who made CoD, CoD2 and CoD4.

I guess thats why you are console player in first place. ;)

I was a PC gamer in first place from my 5th-16th birthday. I went more and more to consoles, because I think they have better games (I always thought that btw)

That's what you think. I think I can easily beat an average PC gamer. I would like to add: I always turn auto-aim off.

Because that game sucks and hard.

And I think it was brilliant. Played it on the PC by the way. IMO waaay better than Morrowind.

Google for Stardock for example. :)

I think we have a different understanding of a classical strategy game.

I didn't say they are dead, but you're not living in reality when you think that Point & Click Adventures aren't niche.

And please next time at least list some good games.

Can you show me even one game on HD consoles that require more thinking than average 10-years old can do? :)

Well I skipped that last time. You know why ?

Because I was always a bit smarter than an average kid with the same age.

When I was ten I played games like Civilization 2, Homeworld and SimCity 3000

So I personally don't know how smart an average 10-years old kid is. At least for me (and some of my friends) those kind of games I mentioned before weren't hard to understand/master.

Well, proofs about dumbing down are then open in this case.

You can't be serious...

Have you even played them? No?

Well, theres 47 (+14) upcoming adventure games. Sounds very niche. How many shooters there were coming for X360 this year again? ;)

I personally don't care what kind of childhood you had, but at least you are not master of perception if you are master in everything else. ;)

However your tries to dodge the question just shows that theres some truth behind it.

@Barozi

About your comment that adventure games can't "tell epic storylines", you're dead wrong. Snatcher, Beneath a Steel Sky and I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream had fantastic stories. In fact, those adventure games had far better stories than 99% of the games on the market today.

i don't see how having regenerating health and 'Multi-kill' is because it's on consoles

Because they make the game simpler and seem tacked on jsut for the fuck of it.

@Barozi

You do know HL2 EP2 is a cheap port for the cocnsoles and not designed for them at all.

I don't know what you mean with cheap port.

Moneywise ? Well maybe I dunno.

Qualitywise ? Not at all. It's just as great as on the PC (talking about Valve's 360 port)

It was designed for the PC first and foremost and they got a small team of lik 4-5 people to mak it compatible with the 360 because it's so easy to go PC-> 360. The whole design process thogh was done for the PC and that makes the whole difference. They kept their focus on the PC gamers not the console ones.

So what prevents devs from designing a game for the PC and then port it to the consoles ?

You shouldn't blame the consoles, you should blame the developers !

Because, technologically games can't handle either fast games or just games with lots of buttons. Why do you htink most console shooters allow you to carry only a ew weapons?

I guess you've never played Perfect Dark.  That problem was solved 9 years ago.

Actually reading up more on it, Deus Ex 3 sounds like such bullshit. They are making regening health, augmentations such as, and i quote :""Multi-Kill" which kills 3-4 enemies." Seriously? Just leave the fucking franchise alone and go ruin some other franchise.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I won't even be subtle about this. I blame the fact they will be releasing it on consoles too. Consoles simplify and dumb down EVERY game so that poor little chobs can handle it.

Better stop trolling about the consoles.

I'll be kindly and don't report this post.

Thank you for your consideration. Doesn't change the fact consoles have dumbed down gaming and the dseing choices in Deus Ex 3 are a perfect example of it.

Developers screw up franchises all the time.  They do it on PC only franchises, they do it on console only franchises, and they do it on handheld only franchises.  Moving from one platform to another makes things even tougher.

@Deneidez

It really bothers me to always saying the same things over and over again.

1. I am serious with all of my posts
2. Call of Duty 3 is neither Call of Duty 1 nor Call of Duty 4. You just failed with that statement. Admit it already. It's like I'm talking about tits and you about asses.
3. it IS niche, not because of game releases, but because of the small audience.
4. No matter how you spin your questions, you just show that you're as ignorant as every other PC fanboy.

1. Lol, maybe its because of your problem with perception? :)

2. Read my answer again. I said, I don't know, because I haven't played original CoD.

3. Well, depends how you define niche. If everything else than large budject mainstream crap is niche, adventure games are niche then.

4. No real answer just dodging. So you admit that there isn't complex games on consoles? :)

Let me help, I am looking for games that has complexity like Empire: Total War. Unfortunately I think you won't find any. This article sums it up nicely why,

The problem is that, these days, players seem to want instant gratification, instant action, instant complexity that can be easily understood and mastered. Empire requires some patience. This is not F.E.A.R. 2, which you can blow through in 10 to 12 hours on the hardest difficulty and which details all its complexity in just half an hour.

Is the 3D Grand Theft Auto series complex enough for you. (let me guess: no)
