Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo fans only - Are you happy with Nintendo's First Party offerings?

Nintendo should atleast release 28 AAA titles a year.

We know they can do it with all that money they have.

I am pleased with Ninty.

They arent gonna give us everything we want.

its like Mick said, "you can't always get what you want"

The problem I have with the Wii is the replay value. There's no point going back to my games after you beat them 2-3 times. Something like a Trophy or Achievement system (or in-game rewards like Mario Kart Wii and Super Smash Bros. Brawl) for every game would make the experience a lot better and last longer in my opinion. Right now, I have no more ''new'' games to play on it... I usually just go back to play my Virtual Console/WiiWare games.

Also, during the first 2 years of the GameCube, Nintendo were only missing Zelda (released in December 2003), Mario Kart and Fire Emblem, but Fire Emblem can not be counted in my opinion because it was a totally ''new Fire Emblem 3D IP.'' It's easy to make a sequel with the same engine, but think about it when they had to rethink the whole series for the current generation of consoles. The GameCube already had Star Fox, Super Smash Bros, F-Zero, Metroid, Super Mario, and even new IPs like Pikmin. I'll make a full list if you want, and I'll say this to you now: the GameCube's 1st party line-up at that time was amazing.

I'm not saying the Wii's line-up is not good, heck, it's probably the best one out there! Such quality titles, but I still think it misses that little special thing the other consoles have nowadays (chatting online and stuff, though Wii Speak is a good beginning toward the good stuff). Nintendo is changing things in the gaming world, but they should not deny the obvious good choices that came out from Microsoft and their Xbox, trying to do something about the online gaming community (it even made Sony do something about it with their new firmware updates). These are good upgrades in my opinion and should not be left behind. Here's hoping the Wii 2 and its games will still have the revolutionary features the Wii introduced, but will feature those ''other'' extra features as well (I'm not talking about a DVD player or media player stuffs).

Like everyone else said though, I think Nintendo is giving 3rd parties time to prove themselves with the Wii. Let's see how The Conduit turns out like. I've also heard good stuff about MadWorld. Are SEGA the only 3rd party trying to make good Wii games though?

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

Background: I have a Wii and a 360.

I've had a Wii since shortly after launch, and I got my 360 around Christmas 2008.

I got the 360 because it had a few games I was interested in playing that simply weren't possible on the Wii. I'm not so much interested in graphics power as I am interactivity, expansive worlds, enemy AI etc. I was curious to see if the extra horsepower actually made a difference.

I really like my 360. I've gotten a lot of fun out of it.

But I'm not disappointed with the Wii. There has been no shortage of games that hold my interest.

Am I happy with Nintendo's 1st party offerings? Yes. The Wii has given me some great experiences. Particularly Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess. I also really enjoyed Brawl.

Do I feel betrayed? No. That's silly. Nintendo doesn't owe me anything, nor do I owe Nintendo anything.

Nintendo is a company. They make good games. They want to make money. If they make games that aren't aimed at me, then big deal. There's enough content out there for everyone.

I like music, but it doesn't mean that I feel betrayed when some crappy pop tune gets a lot of radio play, or sells a lot of CDs/downloads.

I guess If I owned a GCN I might bitch. Seeing as I never owned a 6th generation console Im perfectly fine with what theyve done. Most people are fucking impatient. I mean they were bitching for SMG2 a few months after SMG 1. Its insane.

I just got a DS and yea we all know how huge DS library is. i wont run out anytime soon.

Ive got so many games to play I cant bitch so no. NPC Control is great thing for btw. Just got NPC Pikmin. :D

I am. Mostly for the way Nintendo is screwing up their own fantastic Gamecube franchises by re-releasing the games as junk.

I can't speak for Mario Tennis but I never played the original Pikmin for more than an hour.   I own New Play Control: Pikmin and I think it's far from junk.

Then you should play the original and judge again.

Am I happy with their 1st party offers? Very much so :D.

I notice you edited.

Probably a good call.

I do wish for a more "proper" Paper Mario game, but I will say that I love Super Paper Mario.

I've been very happy with Nintendo's offerings this gen, but they really haven't put out anything I'm interested in in a long while now, and so oh well. I'm not mad at them over it.... but I'm not exactly happy.

What I am extremely pissed off at is that we haven't had a proper Luigi's Mansion sequel on the Wii. I have a fiery hate in my heart for Nintendo over this, and it will only be calmed once they finally announce the game.

Sorry, had to.
