I agree with TC 100%.

yeah its not re5 is not RE either is 4
But i like the gameplay in 4and 5 compared to the old ones if they can do some tweaks like better environments and bring back zombies then RE can be RE all we can do now is play 5 and hope 6 will be a shock to the gaming community like 4 was wen it 1st came out

Play Me
to me the games looks like a failed clone of Left4Dead

Hey Listen!
Resident evil 4 was great, resident evil 5 is a mess.

Don't get me wrong the game is fun, but it feels much different then all other Resident Evils. And a lot of decisions in the game have been made about it that either don't make sense to me or are obviously to make the game much more casual gamer friendly and westernized. I've been enjoying it so far, but the more I play the more I start to realize that I have a growing appeitite to play a "real" Resident Evil game. A game where you don't have a sidekick wasting ammo and herbs, you don't spray the herbs like lyscol, you don't have shitty blood animation, you don't have automatic saves all the time with no typewriters, you don't have a quick inventory menu and you can't save inventory set up seperate from the game data, you dont get chapter selection, you don't get a million bullets and you don't get 4 different types of guns within the first 60 minutes of playing. Does anyone else get this feeling playing the game? And do you think it would be a good idea if they split up the Resident Evil Franchise into three directions? One to stick to it's roots and one to push the game into what it is becoming a more westernized, faster paced, casual game shooter?

Don't forget the chronicles spin offs. I would like to see a new survival horror Resident Evil though
I think RE5 is as much survival-horror as RE4. I'm an hour in, playing co-op with my fiancee and it's been pretty good so far. Beat Chapter 1-2, and we're doing pretty good. I was pretty close to getting all S rankings on chapter 1-2 (missed out on the speed).
If you want true survival horror, get Dead Space or Silent Hill 5. Otherwise, RE5 is a bit more survival horror than Dead Rising.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Yep, same here. Which means that half the people posting how displeased with RE5 they are should not be. Because it's just RE4 with new graphics. I thought RE4 was pants in terms of an RE game. It wasn't one, I wasn't "scared" once. Playing RE2 I was bricking my pants constantly. Real sense of fear and dread and an amazing jump factor. Sorta like Silent Hill 1 and 2 but not as weird.
Speaking of which, why didn't they go the Silent Hill route and make it adventurey and freaky at the same time? They could have used the tarted up graphics like that too and kept the beautiful crappy control scheme from RE's past.

Because Silent Hill Homecoming sold horrible and the game only got mediocre scores ?
