Alright, I didn't want to say "Master Cheif" in the title in case it would be considered a spoiler that he didn't actually die at the end of Halo 3. He's what I really want to talk about.

In the end of the game, him and Cortana are floating away in space and they appear to be floating towards some new planet. I thought it was a pretty open ending for some new story to begin, and I was wondering what you guys thought might happen? Has Bungie said anything? There must have been talk about this after Halo 3 came out, so what are the ideas floating around?

I'm bringing this up because I just beat Halo 3 for the first time. Woo! I was thinking of trying to play online, but I'm tired and don't feel like hearing a bunch of screaming kids right now. :P

im thinking that that planet hs a horrible species that can easily kill the humans and the covenant so they have to team up to take them down

I doubt Bungie is making the next full version Hal fps. MS has been busy building a team that will work on the Halo games. Judging by a speaker at GDC from Halo Studios, they are creating their own engine for the game, and it will be an engine based on multiple cores.

Now cue the Halo Kart and Halo Dancing lame ass responses.

Weren't there 2 endings you could get? Like a legendary ending and and ending for the other difficulties?

They were the same ending, but Legendary shows your more of it.

Anyway, Microsoft's Halo team will be handling Halo 4 (or whatever they call it).  Not to worry--lots of ex-Bungie staffers joined them, including some of the heads.  I believe that the planet he saw was Planet Onyx, from the book Ghosts of Onyx.  Spoiler: Other Spartans are still alive, along with Dr. Halsey, who created the Spartan program and developed Cortana in her own image and personality.

Yes seeing Master Chief and Cortana float at the end in a spaceship and seeing another planet on the horizon is definitely another teaser to another title!

Congrats on beating Halo 3 though. I beat this game 8 times on Legendary!! Certainly worth the time, effort and fun with friends!

im excited for halo 4 IF it can keep up the good storyline and make it mysterious. Bungie has done a masterful job so far and M$ has big shoes to fill. But i think it was planet ONYX and there will be several spartans left with who master chief will rendevouz and take the fight to the flood
