I like JRPG's alot but if a RPG doesn't have a great story and nothing new in gameplay its not worth full price. maybe down the road when its down to 40 or 30 bux I'd take a look but im not hyped at all about this game anymore. It was the first reason I got a 360 now Eternal Sonata is #1 for me. Lost Oddessy loses some cool point for blue dragons mis-steps. hopfully when we here a lil more on its story it can restore my faith in mistwalker.

Sakaguchi will most likely always create the classic turn based rpgs, but always add some things. Blue dragon had the charge, and deep customizeable characters. I hear the story is not so well though. Lost odyssey seems to be great on story telling, but also keeping the traditional turn based, but as long as it looks fantastic, and has a few things new, its all good with me and ill love it as much as any new innovative ideas

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

Shrug, get Ted Woosley to translate it! (Alright, that's a weird reference. Well, not really.).

Same score X-Play gave it. Oddly doens't diminish my desire to give it a try at some point.

X-Play goes by 5. How could they have given it a 6?

3/5 perhaps?

Also, Nobuo wasn't the main contributor to Chrono Trigger, Yasnori Mitsuda did most of it.

See Ya George.

"He did not die - He passed Away"

At least following a comedians own jokes makes his death easier.

How much of the CT soundtrack did Mitsuda do until he got sick and couldn't finish it?

At any rate, everyone needs to play Blue Dragon. Using the excuse of "its like every other JRPG, I'll pass" is like saying "well, Final Fantasy X was like Final Fantasy IX" or "Dragon Quest 8 is going to be too much like Dragon Quest 7"

Blue Dragon has alot in common with the JRPG greats, but only in a good way. Blue Dragon is still the most visually stunning JRPG in history. The story isn't uber-great, but it's still up there with most DQs and FFs.

I have yet to talk to someone that has posted negative impressions of Blue Dragon, so I think that bodes well for it.

Ckmlb, have you played BD yet?

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Who honestly gives a crap about a review. Honestly I'm greatly enjoying the game, the story is a little shallow, but the fight mechanics are awesome. The music is good(except for the god awful boss music which still makes me cringe.) Overall by far not the best RPG but easily the best RPG on the 360 in my eyes. Can't wait for Lost Odyssey.

I guess ill be buying it, you like everyone else, have convinced me that its a great game. Your right i have yet to hear of anyone whos deep in the game not find it at least fun to a certain extent. And a majority of people say they are really enjoying it.

Im rather curious why some sites gave it so danm low 7.5+ is what i expected for this game, which it has been for most sites, but some like gamespot /slap

Getting rather pissed at gamespot lately first a 8.5 to metroid, which easily deserved 9+ and bioshock a 9? game is a 9.4+ in my book, and actually ill put metroid at the same. Now this? seriously

Its actually more disapointing than Lair . I never expected that game to get more than 7 overall , but I allways thaught that BD will be the next FF :( When I saw the first movies I fall in love in that game , and I was nearly cryeing for it that its a MS exclusive . Not that Im happy that MS got a mediocre game ... Im sad because yet a nother potential demigod was destroyed :(

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

Gamespot likes to rail on the anticipated titles. I stand by that and refuse to budge. Hate that site.

Just got it will start playing on the weekend.

The reason BD is the most visually impressive JRPG is because it's the first serious JRPG this generation.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

@ ckmlb: Congrats on getting your 360 back, would you describe this experiance as and unnessesary pain in the butt or a minor inconvenience you don´t mind going through ??? Would like to know how this effected your relationship with the 360 ;)

Let's just say it won't be replacing the PS3 in the bed any time soon.

I wouldn't have minded as much if it was in July that I didn't have my 360, but not being able to play Bioshock while everyone else was playing it did piss me off. So if it happens again at a time of no major releases I don't have a huge problem, but if it happens when Mass Effect comes out then I won't be happy.
