Bernie Madoff steals $50 billion from investors and gets only 150 years in prison. The man is 70 years of age and has been a criminal for a very long time. He was the former head of Nasdaq. Madoff is one of the main corporate criminals responsible for economic crisis gets rather off lightly IMO.

Only half a billion dollars is recoverable - practically all of the money is unrecoverable. All those poor investors regardless of socio-economic class (celebrity or not) are left out to dry.

Madoff will more than likely die within 10 years, he is an old man and old men die. 10 years is not a long time to rot and die in prison.

Can you imagine how many pissed off people would be after his head if he were NOT in prison?

its probably in some swiss bank account somewhere. I say punish him by taking away his passport and by publishing his address to everybody. Then look the other way if *anything* were to happen

well at most he will live 20 years more (doubtful), so what are they going to do keep the body for 150 years?.

if possible torture (don't kill him) those 15-20 years sounds like a good punish.

Where's the money?  It was a gaint Ponzi scheme, which means that old investors were paid with the money of new investors.
