Right Wii is dying in Japan, nearly 8 million Wii's will die when PS3 reaches 3 mln, im sorry but if you think that Wii is slowing down and demand is not there anymore, then you can say that HD twins have died in 2007 because Wii trounces them in sales nearly every weeek

The real question is how does the Wii manage to sell 18 thousand in Japan despite not having a decent game since christmas season (Animal Crossing and Wii Music), a major RPG launch since Dawn of Symphonia and a blockbuster game since Wiifit or Mario Kart.

The fact that the Wii is selling above 5,000 right now shows just how god damned unstoppable the thing is. Wait till games come out. You'd be surprised what it can do.

IF sony will drop the price of the ps3 in japan in april
then yes it would be the "end" for the wii in JAPAN

Agree with stof.Sony+360 already use their silver bullets(KZ2,Halo Wars ,SFIV) ,now we gotta see will it work on Wii or not. :)

Decent?!!!  Animal Crossing is a replica of a 2 year old DS game and Wii Music - well my new year resolution was not to say what I think of this so I won't.

Far from the end as long as they can cut the price. The PS3 could have quite a momentum right now, though, but I suppose we should wait and see before we can say that.

The HD consoles now have just passed a combined 33% market share for current gen consoles in Japan. Wii is down to an almost irrelevant 67% market share.

At the current sales rate, the combined HD consoles will pass the Wii in marketshare a short 100+ weeks from now.

Wii is totally doomed!

I've been one of the people so far who clearly said Nintendo is to blame for the Wii sales in Japan but this is ridiculous...

the system isn't going to stop selling and while I'm glad to see the Wii selling less in Japan now (yeah, I really think Nintendo was way too confident the thing would sell like crazy because of the DS' impact in its home country) I highly doubt the system is going to see bad sales. Neither this year nor next year or the year after. There are way too many big titles announced.

If you want to blame Nintendo for something blame them for being unable to grow the japanese console market.
