It's awesome. I need to install it at work. And I've said this many times, it's not hard it just doesn't have any crutches to mask lack of skill. Parctice more. i've gotten hella better in the last week.

hmm oke i´l try when i get to play again :( ik hate punkbuster !!

I play it. Lots of fun.

Very boring, feels old. No wonder since it's from -99. Limited gameplay options (just death match and flag hunting). I hate the "setting", the environments feel synthetic and artificial. The fast pace seems unnatural. But I always hated Quake 3 and UT. I semi-liked Quake 2 because of the lack of competition back then.

But it's kinda amazing to be able to play such a graphically advanced game in a browser. Had lots of lag moments with frequent freezing when I played though.

When there are amazing team based shooters like ET: Quake Wars, no one shuld wanna play Quake Live.

I'm gonna go off on a limb here and say that you got your ass whooped so hard in Quake and UT that you had to go to the ridiculously slow paced "team" games. UT and Quake DM and TDM are the most fun and STILL the best multiplayer experiences in the gaming world today (UT more so than Quake!!!).

In fact when I played with my friends who sucked at them (all vs. me), my "handicap" was when they gave me one of them on my team.

lol, you'd like to think so rite? ^^

Well no, that was not the case. I've always been doing okay in Quake 1/2 (and 3, but I never put many hours into it). I was satisfied. But I admit that I do perform comparatively better in slow paced games. But honestly, thats not why I prefer them. I think the fast pace in Quake/UT is the one which is ridiculous, no matter if it's in single or MP. It's just not natural, people don't run n move that fast.

The pace is just a small factor though. Quake/UT are just simple and dumb MP games.

Actually I like Quake Live a lot. It's probably the first DM game I've ever liked (I missed Q3 by the way). Especially balance seems excellent compared to many other games - it's all about skill (and spawning next to a decent weapon :P). I've also had only little lag so far. And I like the fast pace but you have the right not to. Oh, and I also love ETQW, it's just hard to find balanced matches.

I can't deny that the balance is great. But how hard can it be (for such an extremely simple game)? Yeah I know, the simplicity is a big part of the game design, for balance and competition reasons in pro games and stuff.

But ET:QW has awesome balance too. Nuffin is overpowered (xcept tanks if you're a tank master).

Well on second thought, there are some details like spawn killing and some parts of maps are very hard for one side of the factions...
