What do you think the lifetime sales will be for Star Ocean 4 in Americas? Remember that Americas is the series best selling territory.

I personally feel it may not pass 250k although I hope I am seriously wrong, I hope it pulls an Uncharted.

How much did SO3 sell in the Americas?

If it can do 250k in Japan, America & Others then I think its done well.

Also worth mentioning is that 360 userbase at SO4 release was about 16.5M, PS2 userbase at time of SO3 release was 28M. (Talking about Americas only)

If JRPG legs carry out as usual the game will launch on a US userbase about 60% in size and achieve only about 33% of lifetime sales in that territory.

Historically speaking, as far as I know, the Star Ocean series is not exactly known for sales. I think that the game could have benefited from being multiplatform but that is the stance I take on all third party hd games.

I know that when I finally buy it that will add one to that number. I almost feel guilty for putting it on hold till after KZ2 and RE5.

I don't use Japan sales because PS2 was like 11M at the time of SO3 release.

I am only talking about Americas, just in case anyone brings it up. Japan sales are actually pretty good considering userbase size but in terms of Americas it may end up horribly when you look at the series average.

I think in NA they can sell over 400k within 1 years in Japan 350k in PAL 250k , life time sales should be 1 million or higher

I bought it thinking it would at least be as good as tales of vesperia. I was dead wrong! The review scores are all wrong! It deserves a 2 out of 10. Its horrible in so many ways. Extremely painful to play and I love jrpgs! Lost oddysey is a 10 tales of vesperia is a 9 FF X is a 10. I'm telling the truth,, its pure garbage!!!

I think it's rather premature (still) to argue where SO4 is going to be at in terms of American LTD sales.

However, looking at Blue Dragon, Star Ocean 4 had a much better 2nd week - it's up 7,000 units (23k to 30k). Blue Dragon had a similar opening (BD @ 60k, SO4 @ 65k), and Blue Dragon had great legs - it managed a 6x multiplier.

So if we want to only go with 2 weeks of data, it should trend like Blue Dragon, and hit 390,000 in North America. Far cry from SO3 in NA, but not nearly as bad as your 250k prediction.
