RTS have more sales compared to super most hyped FPS of this year ?, wow

I can think of several RTS released this year that should sell more than KZ2. None of them is Halo Wars though.

Yes yes, PC gaming is god, blah blah blah.

But youare right, starcraft 2 is going to massacre halo wars sales. In fact, it will sell 50 million copies in south korea alone.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

RTS outsells an ''FPS'' in america?,..

''in your face metacritic''',..muahahaha muhahahahha

we love the Master Chief's .

''Halo reach''.. sell 7.m first week ,Believe¡¡¡¡¡¡

Halo Wars First week, 460k
Killzone 2 first week, 360k + 170k = 530k in America.

Killzone came out on the 28th in America, and VGChartz updated the 28th, meaning that was first day sales. First week would actually be sales up to March 6th, VgChartz updated on the 7th so first week sales would be around the 500k-530k mark, add both. Want real sales I guess take 170k divide by 7, times by 6, add to 360k.

Now stop this with "Halo wars outsold Killzone 2 in America first week", it didn't.

Come on Pristine... I like you...
but you have to admit... Killzone2 had everything for it:

  • STELLAR reviews
  • Super-Hyped PS Community
  • TV Ads and Marketing
  • Awesome visuals
  • It's a f***in FPS, the biggest seller genre
  • Sony unveiled it MANY years ago to build the hype

Killzone 2 couldn't fail.
But again, the PS3 userbase is weird.

Let's pretend the game would have been 360 exclusive... Killzone2 first week would have done 1,6 million, easily.*

* Look at the Gears1 data from 2006: first week around 900,000. And at the time, the 360 WW install base = 5,5 million.

It didn't fail. It just didn't sell as many copies as you seemed to be expecting. The TV ads were few and far between and I'd reiterate, "super-hyped ps3 community" doesn't sell games. There are just a few of us using the internet not millions and millions. There are also many ps3 owners who bought one just to have all 3 consoles.

Also, the ps3 userbase is much worse compared to the competition in the region that sells the most FPS.  If ps3 had 360 userbase in the US, that'll probably mean an extra 350K copies sold on day 1. Lastly,  the demo killed it for some. Some people experienced lag and were never able to get over it. I personally didn't but I understand that some others did. We can only hope they come aboard as the word of mouth spreads.

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

No it didn't. The first seven days Killzone 2 outsold Halo War's first seven days. Do the math. If you mean the first whole new weak, then yea, Halo Wars edged out Killzone 2.

Halo brand + double install base compared to PS3 = huge sales in america.

Bit of a cop out there

The game is an RTS, has horrible reviews (didn't lamespot give it like a 6 or something?) has had zero advertising, i have not seen one advert, poster etc for Halo Wars. Have seen millions for KZ2, which is expected due to the high amount of money Sony spent on the advertising.

= KZ2 should of pissed all over Halo Wars.

Remember that whole "It is an fps game, america loves fps games"?

then you never walked into a walmart. Both doors had two signs each on the security sensors for the last month and a half. They took down the iphone ads for it.

Yes, we can all agree the halo name was the reason HW sold better....but maybe PS3 fans wanted something more than a shooter with extraordinary graphics....no?

I hope my 360 doesn't RRoD

Weird I just saw a HW commercial on SciFi about 10 seconds ago. Same one thats posted on here. And yes, in no way does it explain that its a RTS game.

yesterday i had a customer come in excited 4 Halo Wars. When i told him it was an RTS and not a FPS he put it bac.

I think this is typically what is happening with this game. Blind Fanbase who eat up everything and anything without thought. Im not saying the game isnt great, it is. It just isnt selling of its own merit but of the name. FF is guilty of this too.

Same kinda thing happened in my fantasy warld as well, where 3.1 million customers came into the store to get KZ2, and when they found out it wasn't Halo 4...they put it back...
