Forums - Sales - Halo Wars Outsells KillZone 2 In First Week In US

Killzone 2 sold 359k in 1st week

Halo Wars sold 445k in 1st week

Gratz Halo Wars, don't think many of us thought that would happen. Might even over-take KZ2 sales next week.

Halo brand + double install base compared to PS3 = huge sales in america.

Are you really surprised? Really..? I thought this was a no-brainer..

Still sort of surprising. For all the hype that kz2 received, I would have really expected the fanboys to make it the best selling game of the month at least.

This shows that the Halo brand is able to transcend genre much like Mario. I can only imagine the Halo spin offs that Microsoft is conjuring up. It also shows the lack of casuals on the PS3 installed base.

360 Outsold Wii? 58 million really?

Edit :Nevermind

Not surprised... I am actually more surprised that KZ2 has a good chance to sell more in the US then HW LT ....

Bit of a cop out there

The game is an RTS, has horrible reviews (didn't lamespot give it like a 6 or something?) has had zero advertising, i have not seen one advert, poster etc for Halo Wars. Have seen millions for KZ2, which is expected due to the high amount of money Sony spent on the advertising.

= KZ2 should of pissed all over Halo Wars.

Remember that whole "It is an fps game, america loves fps games"?

this pretty much says it all.

what i'd like to know is how many copies of halo wars has either been returned or are sold back as a used game because they didn't know it was an rts.
