Forums - Sony Discussion - Kaz to SQEN: FFVII remake on the way?

This is the highest form of speculation. For those who don't wish to click through, Kaz wrote, in english, a note on a messageboard that said, "Congratulations on 10 fantastic years! The best is yet to come."

Ideally S-E is already working on a FF7 remake, and it will be available 6 months before FF13. This would boost PS3 sales, and get people hyped for FF13. Also, if Sony was really smart, they would make it so that people who have purchased a psp, ff7 crisis core, ps3, and ff7 remake can download ff7 FOR FREE to their psp. May not be much, but it would feel like a nice bonus to the Sony faithful. I don't see why S-E would hold back on a FF7, unless they were worried about PS3's long term viability. (which I belive they are nt concerned about)

Geez, Leo. It's a myspace page. There's speculation and then there's reaching.....reaching like Mr Fantastic from the Fantastic 4.

A few places are reporting it but he could be referring to anything. If FFVII remake is in production then both Sony and S-E suck because something this big shouldn't be this secretive.

Soriku, the article you linked is 3mths ago... and he also said they are not totally ruling it out. Kitase has gone on record saying the same thing. I don't think this will happen until after FFXIII releases but it will happen on a platform sooner or later. It's just a matter of time.

i think they would be too scared to piss off fans, anyways this would be nowhere in the near future.

I saw "myspace" in the thread URL and immediately dismissed it as utter garbage. Because that's what it is.

leo-j, please find more reputable sources before posting an entire thread about something.

"'Casual games' are something the 'Game Industry' invented to explain away the Wii success instead of actually listening or looking at what Nintendo did. There is no 'casual strategy' from Nintendo. 'Accessible strategy', yes, but ‘casual gamers’ is just the 'Game Industry''s polite way of saying what they feel: 'retarded gamers'."

Wrong.  They've stated explicitly they are not starting any new projects until the PS3 performs better.

Good lord people, stop resurrecting this rumor every month. Square's been shooting it down since 2001. TWO THOUSAND FRICKIN ONE! Every time it gets shot down, the fanboys get even more delusional and continue to grasp at thin air - the straws are all gone.

Kaz probably knows little of what's going on. Since the FF7 compilation is still around, it goes without saying that another title might be revealed at TGS.
