note: my games collection on my profile is only 20ish% complete, i've got a boatload of 360,saturn and dreamcast games to add and a few ps3 games, thanks :)
Bahh no point in getting our hopes up, will probably be nothing special at all just like those Nintendo Power magazine pictures we got, what was it? Castlevania DS one time and the other Sonic the Black Knight Wii, huge dissapointments.

sin & punishment was 9 years ago, so I doubt that is it.
The background looks like a space theme so I'm guessing Star Fox. It started 16 years ago (1993) and the last good one (Star Fox 64) was released more than 10 years ago.

Looking at some of the suggestions:
It can't be Sin & Punishment -- it dates from 2000
Kirby dates from 1992, Pokemon from 1995 in Japan, 1998 in NA.
Meanwhile, SSB for the VC was suggested in the comments on the original article. It is out in Japan and nearing its 10th anniversary in NA.

Just remembered--Iwata is keynoting GDC. He's never keynoted GDC without announcing a Zelda game.
I have 3 theories... and I will rate them in order of probability...
1) 1996 - The N64 was released ( its doens't have to be a game, the legacy could just be the N64 )... so they are going to start realising again N64 games in the VC after the implementing eitheir full SD Card compatibility (you can storage your games on the SD Card and launch the from there without transfering the content in and out of the wii memory ) or ( a really really improbable ) some kind of HD.
2) 1995 - The only Mother game to ever be realeased in NA, Earthbound is going to get a sequel either on the DS or the Wii.
3) Either a new Pilotwings or a new entry on the DKC series
I find these build ups to game announcements are often big let downs. Hopefully this one is actually something to be excited about.....if it's even a game announcement at all.
