Rockstar, Timbaland announce PSP mixer game... say what?

Coming as a bit of a surprise, Rockstar Games, "in association with" one of the highest paid producers in music, announced a PSP port of the developer's 2005 Web-based loop sequencer. Sceenshots and a release date are lacking, however.

Rockstar Games hopes Timbaland knows the way to reach the top of the video game charts. In a conference call yesterday, Rockstar parent Take-Two announced—in association with the proven hip-hop producer—Beaterator for PSP. Not a lot is known about the sequencer plus rhythm game software, but the official teaser website has a few details.

"Built from the foundation of Rockstar's widely-acclaimed original web version of Beaterator, Beaterator for PSP is both a powerful portable music mixer with robust beatmaking features, as well as a highly-addictive collection of rhythm games and challenge modes," the site reads. The PSP version also promises "original music and a built-in sound kit produced by Timbaland."

The original Beaterator is no Ableton. It's more like a stripped down version of Acid or Garage Band. And it's unclear how much of a rhythm game the PSP port will end up being. Still, it's another exclusive making its way to the handheld, which is only a good thing.

For the uninitiated, Timbaland is one of the highest paid people in the music industry, earning upwards of $22 million a year for his production work, according to Forbes.

I think the thread title sumarrized it perfectly.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Sounds interesting, I wonder if it's similar to the Korg Sequencer for DS?

Lots of PSP announcements lately, wonder what's goin' on?

This could be good, considering Rockstar is involved.

Timbaland is actually pretty good at making beats. I'm kind of curious to see how this combination works out.

I do hope this isn't that huge exclusive everyone has been raving about. If so I will tear off people's faces.
