It's certainly no less fun than having one of the players just watching and giving hints, as usually happens in these situations. I had a lot of fun playing that way with my girlfriend, we'd switch controllers every few levels.

Thanks for the advice so far, I'll have to get LBP for sure now, been putting it off for no good reason.

why don't you ask her what games she would like to try? or better yet you both go to a store and look at all the games and pick up some she is interested in, if the worst happens and she doesn't like them take them back.

If you have it, try New Super Mario Bros. It is a great game, and very similar to Super Mario World.

And in case you didn't see my edit in my last post, you really need a second controller for LBP.
It's a good game when you are playing alone, but the fun multiplies many times over when you play together.
