Forums - Sony - New PS3 exclusive action RPG, Mars, announced.

if 360 can count games like Mass Effect, GeoW, L4D as exclusive so can the PS3. Otherwise it is a double standard...

The 360 can't count anything, as it's an inanimate object which frequently breaks down.

And of course those games aren't exclusives. If someone says they don't feel compelled to get a system because too many of its best games come out for PC as well, that is a legitimate reason for not wanting that system.

It's a console exclusive, but it's not an exclusive exclusive. There is a difference, and it's kind of important to note that even as the lines continue to blur between what is a console and what is a PC.

Yeah, I read about this game last week and it was anounced for PC, PS3, and X360. PC and PS3 versions without X360 version wouldn't make much sense seeing as PC architecture is far more similar to X360 than PS3.

Surprisingly, Mars is set in a futuristic society on Mars. We never saw that one coming. You'll roam the world to discover your own identity...

sounds like "Total Recall" movie or the 1992 "Flashback" videogame.

Just out of curiosity, why would a no-name developer make a game for PS3/PC and not the 360, without having a publisher.

I can understand why a PS3 game from a minor developer wouldn't get a 360 port, but it makes no sense not to port this to the HD console that oftenly sells more software (seeing as how you're making it for PC as well, which the 360 is closer to than the PS3 is).

Too early to announce?

Fixed and applies to this case

Hmm that's a weird choice of platforms. I'd expect full x360/ps3/pc release rather than PS3/pc - the only reason to do the PS3/PC combo probably would be massive amount of data in game which would make releasing it on x360 too expensive (as M$ take cash for each disk in game)
