Forums - Sony - New JRPG announced: Atelier Ronora - only for PS3 (for now, at least)

The first pic is great. xD

@outlaw: Give me details on this series, plz.

Gust is a small RPG developer that specializes in making odd, quirky JRPGs that appeal to a very niche audience. The graphics will be dated and nothing special. All the appeal is in the story and gameplay.

The Atelier games have alchemy as a strong focus of the gameplay and story. So expect it to return.

I'm not sure if you will enjoy this type of game at all, but it has a very diehard fanbase.

Here is Gust's Wiki. Take a look see.

Will this be a game where I would have had to play the previous ones to understand this one?

Gust's games are definitely not for me, but it's nice to see the PS3 getting this kind of support! More really niche games is a good sign.

Not at all. This one is going to be a new story about Ronora. The other games are from the same universe but it's Atelier Iris.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

NIS/Gust are hardcore because they cater to their fanbase. Whether you like their games or not they do a fine job on focusing on thier fanbase while not loosing sight by making too many compromises to the masses (Squaresoft). Hopefully, NIS/Gust will stay true to this this gen like they did the last.

Sweet,  I will really consider getting this game now, I like a game with a really good story.  It sounds like it has that.

Nice another rpg.

wouldn't it be funny if since SE has been heavily supporting the 360 the smaller devs gain more popularity and se loses some since a jrpg fan wouldnt get too many choices in japan?

i hope it looks exactly like those epics
