Forums - Nintendo - Famitsu: The next Resident Evil Wii is.....

Hopefully it is built from the ground up for the Wii, and it is a third person shooter.

That's too bad. It would have been nice to see a little variety.

I have visions of developers saturating one genre at a time on the Wii. Party games, puzzle games, racers and rail shooters are done. Any bets on which one will be next? Action is getting there...

Capcom just will not spend money on the development of Wii games. They are just out for money. Usually it's about the game but this gen Capcom is all over the HD platforms and will use the Wii and their on Rails shooter to pad their pockets and improve their balance sheet. Boo them. I'm keeping my money in my pocket. Hopefully, I'm wrong and they are going to make a proper Resident Evil game.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba

"wahhhhh I didn't get what I wanted!"

once again...lets see what this game is before we piss on it, and Umbrella Chronicles has a buig fanbase, so why not make another one?

had they made a port like everyone assumed you same guys would be like "hey look at the wii getting nothing but ports"...

Capcom's always been open about wanting the money first. Granted that their strategy is now a bit different, but remember that this is the company that would make an awesome new IP, then promptly port it to every platform under the sun AND turn it into a franchise that quickly lost its fans, only to repeat the cycle.

Plus you're forgetting Monster Hunter. That's going to be pretty big (too bad I don't care for the genre...).

If it's Umbrella Chronicles two, I would be very glad :)
I regret not buying Umbrella Chronicles. It was a fantastic game.
I will buy and play the hell of UC2, if it shows RE2, CVX and RE4 scenarios. Pretty please ;)

oh look, it's people complaining about a sequel to what was one of the Wii's best games.

Well that's the first of my predictions to come true. I knew this announcement would come right after RE5's release.

Thats highly debatable. Imo it sucked hard.

OT: Yea Im pissed. I dont care I expect it to be on-rails so those who hold out hope go ahead. I dont care anymore.

@disolitude - so you're saying that the wii can't handle a 3d person shooter game? Oh please! You gotta be kidding me....take your condescending trolling crap to somewhere else

No one is saying Wii can't handle it...but as an owner of 360 and Wii I'd rather play rail shooters on the wii than a 360. Wii is made for that stuff... 3rd person adventure games are cool on the wii too but for me Wii controls have become routine for those games...just like dual analogs. I can play both just fine...and once contols are out of the way...I don't think there is anything else that can be done on the wii better for a resident evil game.

Oh yeah, point and clicks are well on their way. Broken Sword, two Secret Files games, Sam & Max Season 1 and 2, Strong Bad, the Runaway series. They're just slow coming out. It's to the point where some people are assuming that a new PC point and click has a Wii version in the works.
