I'm looking for a game to play that wouldn't require a graphics card.  A simple puzzle game like World of Goo for example :)

Open Office .

You can import documents , delete letters at random and try to guess what they were afterwards.

Without a gfx card? I suppose there are some old school text adventure games you could get printed out to a spool dot-matrix printer

On a serious note, while I don't know what type of gear you actually have, unless you are after a "newer" game, may I suggests looking into all the awesome games released 5+ years ago. Even the crappiest of onboard gfx cards can still play most games from earlier this decade without any hitches.

Cave Story.

It's an awesome platformer somewhat in the same genre as Metroid. It's free, but much higher quality than most freeware. It most certainly does not require a graphics card.

Most Z-Machine games (Infocom "text adventures" and interactive fiction written in Inform) can output a transcript to a line printer. They have plenty of puzzles in them! How the heck do you even boot your machine? Are you talking about not requiring a discrete graphics card?

Edit: Wow, 8-eyes, Katilian beat me to it. I think the point stands, even if you've got an integrated video card. Text adventures are full of puzzles and are certainly playable under an MDA or better.

Starcraft, Diablo II.

Those 2 games should run unles syou have a PC from '95, and will probably suck away more of your life than any other games combined (except WoW).
