Its a great game, better then Zelda 1, but after that it gets iffy.

But a great game nonetheless

no where near the best game Nintendo ever made.

Was never a fan of the game either.  The sound effects are especially annoying in this game

I played it a lot back in the day but not sure if I ever got close to beating it. I am trying to play it now on VC. Finally beat the 2nd boss after dying numerous times. I have to "cheat" by looking at online strategy guide/walkthrough because half the time I don't even know what the hell I am supposed to do or go. Like I was reading after the 2nd boss you go to this cabin in hidden square in a bunch of woods. I was like how the hell would I ever find that... I pretty much just suck at adventure games sometimes. I require more linear games it seems or more npcs in game to tell me where/what to do.

Anyone who says Zelda 2 is the worse Zelda game is obviously forgetting about the CD-I games (unless you are just counting Nintendo made Zelda games).

Sorry, I tried to embed the video but wasn't working for some reason.

When you bought the game originally it came with this really cool map that had a lot of locations already drawn on it. So you knew where all the palaces were. However, I think we stumbled across the house way before we needed too. Of course, on the VC you aren't going to get that. Now I have the whole world memorized, and I know where all the dolls are, heart containers, magic containers, and everything. The only palace I don't know any more is the last. I'd have to cheat to get through that effectively. I made a map of it when I first had the game.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

After seeing this game paraded around as one of those 'underappreciated classics' after playing this game I can see it has it's black sheep reputation for a reason. While by no means a bad game, it lacks the usual polish that compliments the other games, a frustrating control scheme and an unmemorable and sometimes irritating musical score makes this by far the weakest official entry in the series to me.

I found jump to be somewhat clumsy due to a very poorly implemented momentum mechanic that felt extreemely imprecise when the game required navigation of platforms. Standard stabbing is fine but when it came to sheilded enemies the game seemed to have trouble reading my movements and kept moving link backwards and forwards instead of ducking and stabbing. Even when  I should have landed a successfull hit the collision detection was very poor and many of my hits didn't register.

Are you playing with the classic controller or a GC controller? Maybe control sticks don't respond well. If you're playing with the Wiimote on the side... I don't know what could cause that.

Signature goes here!

Zelda 2 was great I would not qualify it as the other Zeldas though... I played Battle of Olympus arround that time, and it would more fit with that game than other Zeldas... my favorite will always be the first one though.

(I was a leet hardcore gamer as a preeteen, didn't feel the game was difficult...though, I tried playing Megaman again 2 months ago and I sucked, didn't have any problems beating that as a kid... )
