Seriously if you read most hands on previews and watched gameplay videos it was pretty obvious Lair wasn't going to be a fantastic game. However saying that a 4.9 is incredibly low. Even Red Steel scored a 5.5(?), in fact also like red steel there is one insanely high review. I wonder if it's a similar case where the controls are bad but can still be coped with if you learn them. I was thinking it would be somewhere around 6-7 from ign.

I wonder if gamespot will rate it higher or lower? Usually I think gamespot will rate things lower but in this case I could see them going quite a bit higher as gamespot always kinda seem more graphics focused to me.

Factor 5 should stick to making games where you can't control any organic beings. Anyone remember the on foot sections in Rebel strike? Awful.

It's kinda weird though. How often is there a game hyped for 2 and a half years( E3 2005 right?) that turns out to get reviews that low =/. Usually games that score that low are the ones that turn up suddenly. I wonder if Sony will try and distance themselves from this title as one of their big ones this year =S

Oops forgot that Warhawk nailed down the SIXAXIS. Maybe they can share the code with other developers as to how they got it right.

LOL that was me...yea im definitely gonna give this a rent first... it seems that the controls seem to be the reason why this game is getting rated so low... sorta reminds me of the ratings of red steel for the wii... reading  this article which ign put out only a couple hours ago it seems like they could have rushed their review out..  since they didnt know the game was coming out today.. but its still a very poor score nevertheless

Sucks for Factor 5...hopefully they'll try again with a better game...

I'm sure it'll still sell well though. At least...it better...because they probably spent a lot on development.

No - I hope NO ONE buys this game. It will be a blight on the PS3, and the more people that buy it - the more people will be pissed off.

I am not going to argue the score, like I said with the 1up Wii review, they are entitled to their opinion. Comments like that are ok coming from me, but I don't like some of the ways IGN words things, just like 1up's wording. It's a little harsh on the platform, it's not the hardware's fault that the game is not up to their liking.

 They already have.  If I remember correctly, Sony didn't push Lair at all at E3.  They probably listed its name among many games, but they never mentioned it in the conference.  Apparently they knew it wouldn't end well.

no need to flame ps3 owners just flame the makers of this game... HEAVENLY SWORD IS STILL GETTING ABOUT AN 8.5 ON AVERAGE REVIEW SCORE.. and WARHAWK IS GETTING ABOUT THE SAME so 2 out of 3 big titles isnt bad..
