Forums - Nintendo - No Love for Pikmin?

New Play Control: Pikmin came out in Europe a couple of weeks ago, and i believe it is coming out today or tomorrow in the States. Yet while everyone is (deservedly) excited about Madworld, i just want to put Pikmin in the spotlight for a second.

I bought this game a couple of weeks ago, never having played it originally. And playing it was probably the best time i have had with gaming since SMG. Definitely worth the $29.99. If you've played it before, there probably not enough to warrant a repurchase, but if you haven't, wow, you have got to give this game a go, and definitely with Wii controls.

Unfortunately, we Europeans have apparently neglected the game, as sales for this game did not even register in "Others". Hopefully this game does better in the States.

So is anyone getting this game?

I have never played Pikmin before. I will be buying it on the Wii, but next month. I am already getting 3 games this month, and I want to be able to beat them all before buying more games, which should be around the very beginning of April.

Pikmin 2 is one of my favourite games of all times. It is simply amazing. Really, really amazing. That said I could care less for Pikmin Play for Wii or Pikmin 2 Play for Wii. I have already played these games to death on Gamecube. All I want is Pikmin 3 to get released. Good for those of you that have never played these games before but I think Nintendo should be focusing on making new games rather than porting Gamecube games. If it was a 3rd party that was doing this Nintendo and Nintendo fans alike would be criticising them.

I love Pikmin. I did when it was on Gamecube too, and I showed my love by buying it full price. My love, however, has limits when it comes to material possessions. Maybe I'll pick it up when it gets a little cheaper.

Already bought both the GC Pikmin games, so I might save up my moneys for other things instead.

I agree. Still, I have never played Pikmin 1 or 2, or even Metroid Prime 1 or 2. So I want these! :D

I really think they should have created a brand new Mario Tennis though. Even though I have never played a Mario Tennis game before.

I agree with touyo. Give me Pikmin 3 already damnit.

Like the Prime games its really great for those of us who haven't played them (I haven't played Prime 1 and 2), but yeah, I would have perfered if Pikmin 3 was coming out.

"Pier was a chef, a gifted and respected chef who made millions selling his dishes to the residents of New York City and Boston, he even had a famous jingle playing in those cities that everyone knew by heart. He also had a restaurant in Los Angeles, but not expecting LA to have such a massive population he only used his name on that restaurant and left it to his least capable and cheapest chefs. While his New York restaurant sold kobe beef for $100 and his Boston restaurant sold lobster for $50, his LA restaurant sold cheap hotdogs for $30. Initially these hot dogs sold fairly well because residents of los angeles were starving for good food and hoped that the famous name would denote a high quality, but most were disappointed with what they ate. Seeing the success of his cheap hot dogs in LA, Pier thought "why bother giving Los Angeles quality meats when I can oversell them on cheap hotdogs forever, and since I don't care about the product anyways, why bother advertising them? So Pier continued to only sell cheap hotdogs in LA and was surprised to see that they no longer sold. Pier's conclusion? Residents of Los Angeles don't like food."
