10- Dark Cloud (for some reason I liked this a lot more than the second...more atmospheric)

NOTE: Haven't had a chance to play the DDS series yet, but when I do, I have a feeling they'd be on this list somewhere. Also, I liked FFX from a gameplay and story perspective, but I absolutely hated most of the cast of characters, which is why I didn't add it in.

You like Suikoden V more then Suikoden III eh? Why is that? Was it because the former took a more traditional approach to the game?

No, while it's undeniable that SV was an homage to II in most senses, I loved the approach III took also, so that's not the factor. The difference between the two is that I felt the story and characters in V were among the best you can find in an RPG and superior to III (that had already very good characters and story). In fact, if V didn't have some camera problems and those frequents load times, I'd rank it even higher in my list, because in the story part it's flawless

I'm going to buy Jade Empire for my fiance and see what she thinks of it (since her family is Chinese)

I recommend getting it for PC.  More styles, new game+ with an additional difficulty, and modability.

HOLY F***!!! PERSONA TOPPED THE LIST!!! though I wouldn't include FFXII in that list. Valkyrie Profile 2 should have been there.

Did the editors forget about Suikoden III and V? Both games have compelling story, not to mention the awards they got. I don't get it, Suikoden V was awarded as RPGFan editor's choice: http://rpgfan.com/reviews/suikoden5/index.html
