I could have listed many more than 30, but at least I had the courtesy to cut out all the crap.  I wish you'd respect my thread and do the same.  That King's Quest game has reviews as low as 10%.

And 1998 had Chrono Cross, the quickest and hardest fall from grace of a sequel I've ever had the poor luck to look forward to.

LOL. U don't demand respect therefore u don't receive it. Chrono cross was one of the most amazing games. The character design, the tone, the art, the emotion, etc. U probably never even played it therefore say it's crap.

You're messing up the dates again, Rubang. Chrono Cross was released in November 18, 1999 in Japan and August 15, 2000, in North America.

And 1988 had the the crappiest main titles in the two best franchises franchises ever (SMB2 and LOZII).

Ocarina of Time, Metal Gear Solid, Soul Calibur, Starcraft, Half Life, Baldur's Gate, Banjo Kazooie, Xenogears, Resident Evil 2, Panzer Dragoon Saga, Grim Fandango and Pokemon. You can't beat it. Don't even try.

Chrono Trigger fans tend to hate that game with passion. I never understood it and I'm the biggest CT fan there is.

I think the plot sucked, and it was a plot-driven game.  The plot sucked so bad that I couldn't care less about the design/tone/art/emotion.  That's all icing on the empty cake.  I hated the battle system with its weird spell-equipping, and I hated the story.  I also hated the 45 pointless characters with no development.  I have explained my hatred for Chrono Cross in an old Real Talk thread.

I might still have my copy.  If I can find it, I'll gladly film myself smashing it to bits and post it on here.

Oh word.  Thanks.  I retract my anti-Chrono Cross hatred fromo the 1988 vs. 1998 argument, but I will still hate it forever.  I was just misled by this post over in the 1998 thread.

Of course it was the best year for games, I was born that year :)
