So Nintendo and Sony are allowing the game to be on their systems uncut in Holland? I mean gebx is right and it wasn't banned in most countries, it's just the Nintendo and Sony wouldn't allow the game on their system with the ratings it got. But it seems kind of ridiculous and hypocritical on their part (Nintendo and Sony to allow the exact same game on their consoles in one country but ban it from them in another.

Fanboys and others the World should be bashing Nintendo and Sony for choosing to treat their customers unfairly and censoring particular ones over others.

ITS FRKNG HOLLAND!!!!!

Yeah possible that they will react like that ''^^''.

I guess I just will go to Holland then for the game when I go there for some stuff.

 for some stuff :P

Roosendaal's 'De Bazaar'  FTW much better than the Zwarte Tulp IMO.

@ legend11 in the Netherlands there isn't an AO rating, there is a 18+ though but that is allowed at every console, I was talking about America. You know, the country where you can go in the army when your 17, but where you can't decide for yourself if the game is to voilent for you or not.

Why are you blaming America when it had nothing to do with the game not being allowed on Sony and Nintendo consoles, that was the decision of both those companies so they should be the ones who should have to answer for why they need to censor games for people in some countries but not in others.

I didn't see the big deal... The game was banned in UK and Germany, and now Holland allows it among every other country in the world? Great news. :D Sony and Nintendo banned the game in the US because of its AO rating. Of course, this doesn't mean that the game will be released uncut anywhere, or did i miss Rockstars or Take Twos comment about the subject?

Well, the game itself wasn't banned in the US, you could have had it released on PC. So by giving AO rating, means that the game has permission to be released. I also wonder just like Legend, that why these double standards exist. But it's propably just in principle and that AO has pretty bad name in the US, since it seems only to be somekind of protection against people like Jack Thompsons. In Europe, there's no "firewall" like AO, since 18+ equals AO and it doesn't have such a bad name like AO does.

Ei Kiinasti.

Eikä Japanisti.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

it is typical though that in europe Sony and Nintendo (MS too) are releasing games for 18+. why wouldn't they do that in America if it's done here? mmm the politics wouldn't have to do anything with it i guess...

Offtopic (this has nothing to do with games)

i can give you an other example you can go in the army but you can't buy porn. which is idiotic in my opinion.

In various states you can't buy porn before you are 21, but lighten up you can die in a war before you are 21, OMG YEAh.

Correct if I'm wrong but Manhunt 2 wasn't banned from any country...

It received a AO rating therefore it wouldn't be available in most stores... therefore killing whatever chance it had to be profitable.

RockStar pulled the game, fixed it up so that it can be sold at EBgames, Circuit City, Walmart, etc.

It was banned in the UK.

Manhunt 2 Banned in UK

The British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has announced that it won't issue an age rating for Rockstar's upcoming Manhunt 2, rendering it illegal for the game to be supplied anywhere in the UK.

Rockstar has submitted both Playstation 2 and Wii versions of the game for BBFC to review, and both got the same judgment. PSP version was not yet submitted, but it is expected to suffer the same fate if it is ever presented.

Here is BBFC official statement:
"Rejecting a work is a very serious action and one which we do not take lightly. Where possible we try to consider cuts or, in the case of games, modifications which remove the material which contravenes the Board's published Guidelines. In the case of Manhunt 2 this has not been possible. Manhunt 2 is distinguishable from recent high-end video games by its unremitting bleakness and callousness of tone in an overall game context which constantly encourages visceral killing with exceptionally little alleviation or distancing. There is sustained and cumulative casual sadism in the way in which these killings are committed, and encouraged, in the game."

I hope we get the uncut version in Finland as well. The game was rated 18+, but all I've heard from Nintendo is that "no AO games anywhere!!!". The Dutch events seem to suggest that they aren't going to ban the game in the entire world based on American ratings alone, but you can never know. =/
