Forums - Nintendo - Where is all the media hype for Nintendo's Lineup?

RolStoppable wins, i think. Nintendo just doesn't play ball with the media. In terms of media savvy, the chain o' command goes Microsoft->Sony->Nintendo, and you see coverage respond accordingly. Nintendo works on their own terms, and aren't willing to accomodate anyone.

There is a lot of coverage whenever Nintendo reveals anything, but thats few and far between. Everywhere was on fire with Nintendo fever for the two days of the October Media Summit, but then it went away because Nintendo didn't mention a thing about Punch-Out!! until two weeks ago, and still haven't said a peep about Sin & Punishment 2. The media seems to be hanging on Dead Space: Extraction, as well as (to a certain degree) MadWorld and The Conduit, but thats more for effort from EA and SEGA on their parts.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

becos nintendo hasnt released information on them. im guessing that they have embargoed the peope that know about the game suntil their ready to hype them. Nintendo power for example was playing excitebots weeks before we knew anything about it. im expecting a media blitz when we get closer to release

nintendo fanboy, but the good kind

proud soldier of nintopia

Nintendo has always kept quiet until a couple of months before release.

This just in - mainstream media ignores Wii...

It's been like that since E3 2006, and will likely be that way for another 2 years

the mainstream media doesnt ignore nintendo wii.

please, coming onto vgcharts, ign, gonintendo etc.. is vary nich compared to cable news or newspapers...(which do cover the wii alot)

its the online media that ignors the wii for the most part. and the people who read and watch online media are mostly hardcore players who play redundent games like gears of war and zelda and halo,

all gaming websites are hardcore(yes ign, gamestop, 1up, kotaku etc.. are all hardcore)

they ingore the wii becasue they are afraid of the wii, they know that thier small fanbase (compared to the newsparer, tv, tabloids) wont read them or pay any attention, thus leading to less revanue coming in.

point blank, they have no balls

and frankly its sad.

the wii has plenty of games to entice more hardcore players but many of them also have no balls and thus wont give wii a chance..

its a two way road people

hello how are you.

It's their own fault for releasing a last-gen console with a different control scheme.

Not a 360 fanboy, just a PS3 fanboy hater that likes putting them in their place ^.^

please dont sound ignorent and obnoxious,

yeah its nintendo's foult for being the ONLY gaming company to ALWAYS be profitable and have a "last-gen console with a different control scheme" uterlly obliterate all its competition/ and consoles of yester year(ps2 included).

hello how are you.

I don't care if I sound ignorant. That is exactly how I feel about Nintendo and Wii.

Gaming websites are advertisement spaces, the publishers who pay the most will get the most coverage for their games. Most previews and reviews are just another form of ads for a game and since neither Nintendo nor third parties seem to be willing to invest a lot of money, websites won't write much about Wii games.

logic is always the answer. The same logic can be applied to supermarkets. They don't sell people food, they sell space to food suppliers for the privellage of selling stuff. THe more you pay the better shelf position you get.
