To be on par or better than all previous SO games wouldn't it have to be the same score as the best SO game? Y'know, an 80.

I'm guessing there is some reason that we don't seem to believe that SO is going to have any more above 80 reviews?

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

I haven't played SO4 so I make no claims as to its quality or the scores that it will most likely receive. I am simply debating the idea that a 75 is on par or better than any previous SO game when SO: Second Story, and SO: TTET both got scores of 80. Mathematically it just doesn't make sense.

Wait, 2.5/5 is quite meh, but often scores out of 5 aren't directly comparable to scores out of 10 or 100: out of five scores are often comparable to "stars", where 0 means horrible or the reviewer refusing even to give a score, 1 insufficient, 2 sufficient, 3 good, 4 very good, 5 excellent, so that 2.5/5 could be "more than sufficient" (but still not enough to be "good").
Last I checked 5 is average. Stop reading Game Informer.

No. If it is better than some SO games and worse than others then I am able to say that overall it's on par with other games in the series. Especially since they all have similar scores (74-80)
I just picked this up and the gameplay alone puts this game at about 8.5. I am enjoying it more than lost odyessey and that's saying a lot.
Active-time battle systems own turn-based ones any day, so it was to be expected. =P
Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...
Well I enjoy a good turned based rpg. But this battle system is very fluid and natural. I've played a few others that didn't run as well and hurt the game.
