This morning my son had his 2nd RROD. (my Jasper is still hangin in there, *fingers crossed*).  I gathered the information and was ready to call MS, then decided to check out some of the quick fixes I had been hearing about. I came across the "towel trick" on youtube.  It seemed legit and we tried it, and IT WORKED!!

My question to you guys is: Have any of you ever tried it? How long did it last before RRODing again?

If it happens again, Im just gonna make the call to MS, but I am curious to see if you guys have had any luck with it.

I've never tried it, but supposedly it's just a temporary fix to keep you playing until your coffin arrives, right?

Make sure you all microsoft ASAP and tell them u have the RROD. In my experience the towel trick only works for a few days at best maybe a week if your lucky. however as you do it more and more it works for less and less time. At some point your going to have to send it in you might as well do it sooner than later.

I have tried it a few times, never worked for me. I would definitely call MS. I got it back in 7 days and gave my old 360 to my son.

I used the towel trick to give myself the RRoD since Microsoft refused to replace my E 74 360 (Note: It's basically the same thing as a RRoD but not in the three year warranty).
