E3 - June 2-4, 2009

For anyone wondering about what other content CGReviews had, they had the infamous 7.6/10 Killzone 2 review, which later was changed to 9.7/10.

The legendary faux-review?  Yeah, that makes me trust them.

And I forgot that E3 had been moved back to the beginning of June.  The gap between it and GDC doesn't seem so bad now, so if the rumor is true, we won't have to wait much longer after GDC for a trailer.

But Fall 2010? Where did they get that number from? How often does SCEJ announce a game one and a half years before release? They announced Demon's Souls in November 2008, released it in Japan in February 2009. Three months. I don't think we should give up on 2009 just yet, but we'll see at E3/GDC.

I'm almost certain it will make it to Japan in 2009, but hopefully it can come to the West, too.

SCEJ also announced the Siren remake like 4 months before release, plus a few other games like Folklore.

The only exception is White Knight (more Level 5's doing).

Hell, even GT5 was announced at E307, with Prologue hitting Japan mere months later in December.

Damn it Fall 2010 is too much of a wait, cant wait to hear people bashing the game for taking 5-6 years to develop, Also how is this confirmed? lol

If the game isn't ready for release before October this year, then I hope it doesn't come until Summer 2010 at the earliest.

A game like ICO/Shadow of the Colossus would get overlooked in Japan if it was released between Oct '09 and Mar '10 due to the fact that Final Fantasy XIII and Gran Turismo 5 are both getting released during this period.

Besides, Sony could use some heavy hitters for the second half of 2010. Resistance 3, MotorStorm 3, and Final Fantasy Versus XIII won't be able to hold the second part of the year by themselves.

The Japanese don't overlook anything, they'll buy all three of those games. Could give them the boost they need to maybe have a chance of possibly outselling the Wii for the holiday season. Coupled with a price cut.

As for the second half of 2010, we don't know much about 2010 titles yet. Quantum Theory will probably land there, the next Jak game, perhaps a Sly Cooper, more will be announced.

Let's take this with a massive grain of salt. But remember, Ueda will be at GDC, hopefully we'll see a teaser and a name then, with something more substantial at E3 and a Fall 2009 release date.
