Yup i read that somewhere too... large beta in April and Full will be on Fall 2007!

Yup. Confirms what I thoguht I read... I wasnt sure... it seemed too good to be true. rofl. This is just too good to be true anyways. :P I wonder if it's gonna be a open beta? Becuase it makes sense to be an open beta. That would SMASH the 360's Halo hype on it's own.

Hopefully, good news will come out tomorrow from nintendo (its shiggy's keynote day!).

I still don't get it. And Sony has a record of promising you the sun and the moon and not delivering, btw.

I've never seen the appeal of these sorts of things, but whatever

About time sony!! i personally dont see the appeal of the virtual world design but the fact that i can watch movies and get music that anyone else has that i know thats tight. and also 2 or 3 or whatever people can just jump into a game together thats real sweet too... sony has finally stepped their game up .. for you people that watched video without no audio you need to watch it with audio and listen there are some nice features that are gonna be involved with the 3d world

I downloaded the HD video and I can get audio on everything but flash (no idea why flash audio is broke) Yeah, the audio means alot in that one.

Looks fantastic! This is why Sony has such huge internal studios. Wonder how it compares to the Sims. Only problem is that it looks too complicated. You'd actually need to spend time to explore the features... I've never gotten interested in stuff like MySpace or second life so maybe I'm not the target audience. I do hope that in PS3 Home people can be held accountable for their actions instead of like in forums where there is no real repercussions for flaming and etc. I'd be more interested if that's the case, but that would appear to be unlikely. Still, I like the "high scores" feature, hehe.

the Wii is an epidemic.

PS Home will be a huge failure. These sort of avatar chat systems have been around for well over a decade and have always been crap. Second Life has a strong fanbase, but it also has a lot to offer this doesn't. PS Home looks too ambitious, complex, and unfocused for 95% of the userbase out there, but too confining for the 5% Second Life hardcore. Also Sony is just asking for all kinds of legal and PR trouble with this system: how long until some kid gets molested, someone starts a White Power room, someone says f*ck in the presence of Jack Thompson? Considering how vile Xbox Live is, and that's a system people pay for / can be banned from and MS is nominally policing it, how out-of-control will this free system be?!? On the upside Little Big Planet looks *VERY* cool, although it will totally miss its market on the PS3 (a la Viva Piniata)
