@RPG

or The Sims

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

LBP also made a huge jump, the very cheap price + bundles = legs for that one. LBP surely has to be a nice little cash cow for Sony now especially with how well that DLC was selling. Not a GT of course but still a nice little cash cow.

Wow, "Empire Total War" taking the 1st place and "Mario Power Tennis" charting are quite a surprise (to me at least). Too bad "Battle Fantasia" didn't make it into either the PS3 or 360 chart, but releasing a fighting game just 2-3 weeks after "Street Fighter IV" was certainly not a good move.

I'll post the new releases performance later.

And Ireland is up :

Go KZ2! Still number one (on consoles) in UK, Ireland, and Netherlands. They all have great taste!

And LBP back in the top 20. Thank god for budget pricing.

Battle Fantasia is pretty niche, should have been out before SFIV but kept getting delayed. I may import it from the UK, PAL version is the only English language PS3 version available. Not even making the PS3 chart means probably less than 1k sales, even extrapolating across the whole of PAL region it's probably only going to end up doing a few thousand at most. It certainly won't get a reprint, so might be quite rare in the future. £22.50 new on Ebay sounds like a bargain, and may even be an investment :)

i was expecting MGS to be back in the list after budget price.. but seeing KZ2 so high is really surprising.. i think PS3 software is showing some good sales in UK
PS3: 8
XBOX: 10
and also SFIV and Sega Mega for PS3 tracking higher on PS3

Empire: Total War Strikes Back

09/Mar/2009

Sega snatch No1 from Sony’s ‘Killzone 2’ as ‘Empire: Total War’ becomes the first PC exclusive All Formats No1 since ‘Football Manager 2008’ (also published by Sega) back in October 2007.

The latest instalment in the highly rated ‘Total War’ series is the fastest selling, recording almost twice as much in its launch week as either top seller ‘Rome: Total War’ or ‘Medieval II: Total War’ and is the only one to reach No1 in the All Formats Chart. Sales of Sony’s ‘Killzone 2’ are down 58%, dropping to only 1,600 units behind Sega’s chart topper. Nintendo are also not far behind as ‘Wii Fit’ enjoys a 31% surge in sales, pushing it up one place to No3. Ubisoft has to settle for No4 with ‘Tom Clancy’s H.A.W.X’ debuting at No2 in the PS3 and Xbox 360 charts behind ‘Killzone 2’ and ‘Halo Wars’. ‘Halo Wars’ slips 3 places to No5 (-54%), while ‘Professor Layton’ continues to sell well despite dropping one place to No6 (+12%). Previous holders of the All Formats No1 occupy the next three spots as Capcom’s ‘Street Fighter IV’ (-59%) slides from No3 to No7, ‘FIFA 09’ (-7%) is down one place to No8 and ‘Call of Duty: World at War’ (-7%) also drops one place to No9. The All Formats Top 10 is rounded off by D3P’s ‘Ben 10: Alien Force’ with the only other Top 40 new entry ‘Mario Power Tennis’, released on Wii with ‘new play control’ (play classic Gamecube games with the Wii remote / nunchuck), appearing at No23.

58% drop for KZ2.

KZ2 was ~110k last week give or take 10k, so -58% puts it at ~46k this week. E:TW being 1.6k ahead puts it at ~48k. HW sold 72k last week, so -54% puts it at 33k this week.

100% extrapolated numbers, ~10% margin of error:

Empire: Total War: ~48k / NEW
Killzone 2: ~46k / ~156k
Wii Fit
Halo Wars: 33k / 105k
