I have done this new thread because many would have missed this info in amongst the posts of a thread. This is excellent news. (well for racing enthusiasts.) The pure fact that GTR 2 walked all over other racers for realism awards says it all.

And better yet it is in dev for PS3,360 and PC. Bring it on.

Wow NFS: Shift may turn out well after all. I thought it had disaster written all over it. With the guys behind GTR2 on the case, the game has become a potential AAA title.

^ Of course. Without a doubt. This has now become my number 1 racer to look out for. There is rumours of mass budget to.

Whoa... EA is pretty serious about winning the public's eye again. Dead Space, Mirror's Edge and now this! Keep it up EA!

^ Yeah. They have chosen good developers of late. Thats the key to a good publisher.

thank you selnor for showing me something that MIGHT bring my old favorite racing franchise back

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

yeah it does look like it will turn out to be a good sim game but there are already good sim racing games i would a preferred a street racer with nice cop chases

@ Darth no probs.

For PC I can understand where your coming from. But for console owners, there isnt really anyhting close to GTR 2 or the recent GTR Evolution for realism. GT and Forza are kinda semi realism next to the 2 afformentioned games.

But dont worry there is other NFS titles being worked on for the arcade lovers out there to. This is a seperate project.

While I can sadly say i never played the two games you mentioned that the entire design team seems to be from. The pictures were enough to make me a beleiver. But I do question why they would want to go the ultra-realism route. The average gamer could find the controls frustrating, not being used to true sim controls, and not buy the game.

And its not like EA has been reliable with their racing games as of late. Sure those have been arcade type racers, but is the average consumer going to know the difference before they buy it? They may see that its an EA game and skip it and wait for GT5 or Forza 3, both of which they have come to rely on for a great experience. In the end it may become a great game that very few people play, like so many others.

 Don`t forget about Race Pro.

Simbin delivered with Race Pro even if the graphics were not at the same quality of NFS Shift.

Now I am curious if playing NFS Shift will be better and more fun then playing Race Pro. If NFS has both the graphics AND gameplay, then good job EA (I already congratulated Simbin).
