M$ money is quite powerful

And your point...? (And I'm not getting on your case or anything like that.  It was more of a "please elaborate" question.  :) )

Hackers are poor nerds who don't wash.

How about you buy all of them and enjoy the full experience?

That is preciesly what I did.

I own all handhelds and consoles this gen, along with most of their top JRPG's, including the ones in the OP other than Infinite Undiscovery.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

JRPG's on the 360 are mediocre at best. Trust me, they are far from being impressive. And sales prove that. This generation will be hit and miss for JRPG fans. If you want good JRPG's, get a PS2, it has the best JRPG lineup you will ever see. There is no comparison.

Come on, do you people still believe that a JRPG, especially one that uses an already existing engine (i.e. The Last Remnant) that sells over 500k is a massive flop? JRPGs have never been a big genre. Anyone expecting huge sales from a genre like this needs to get a slap in the face. Now. (Unless the game has Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest in it's name.)

no my freind you dont get it

these are hard times for rpg fans , and putting these rpgs on one side of the market aint going to help the sales .

Hard times for JRPG fans? No hard time for fanboys. JRPG fans buy the consoles with JRPGs. Fanboys buy consoles without JRPGs and whine about not having any JRPGs to play. Then they proceed to hit up video game forums and troll posts for the JRPGs they can't play because they didn't bother to check the release lists before making their purchase. This isn't 2005. It's obvious where the JRPGs are going at this point. Either buy the hardware that can play it, or shut up about it and give the rest of us true JRPG fans some peace.

If you replace "JRPG" with "Hardcore/Good 3rd party games", you'd sound like Wii fans

I'll just quote myself from another thread:

Now to those people who scream "oooh SE you fail !!!".
They (SE) released the game (SO4) on the 360 for a reason. They knew it would not sell that many copies in Japan, but they surely received a bunch of money from Microsoft. Besides that the game engine was practically paid by MS. Never forget, MS published Infinite Undiscovery together with Square Enix.

The Last Remnant uses the Unreal 3 engine and SE had huge problems with porting the game to the PS3. However for a mediocre JRPG The Last Remnant sold great and you can't deny that. Even Infinite Undiscovery made a nice profit.

What now? You actually think IU actually made money?

Square-Enix almost certainly made money on IU. MS paid for the development, SE just had to publish it. Not only that, but SE saved millions on SO4's development since Tri-Ace used IU's engine.

Again, I'll say this. Do you think that IU actually made money? (as the amount of money spent into making the actual game was less than the amount brought in from sales)

No, I don't think it did. Fortunately for SE though, that's MS's problem.

I don't think many JRPG's this gen made money period, to be honest. I don't think VC made money either, but you don't see SEGA being called a dumbass for not scrambling to put it on the 360.

I am pretty sure Valkyria Chronicles was said to be a low budget game.

When was the last time you heard of a high budget SJRPG?

SlumsofOhio,

Tales of Vesperia is excellent.
Lost Odyssey is awesome.
Star Ocean 4 is great.

Eternal Sonata is good.
Blue Dragon is good.

The Last Remnant is ok.
Unfinite Undiscovery is so-so.

They are far from mediocre.
JRPG on consoles = Xbox360.

Add to this the exclusives WRPG:

Mass Effect
Fable 2
Fallout 3 (The complete experience)

And you got an AWESOME selection of RPGs.

On my PS3, not so much.

Ooooooooo...  What a low blow.  ;)  I have to admit that being a Miyamoto fan is a very strong primary reason to own a Wii.  And it's pretty obvious where the JRPG's are going to: the handhelds.

:)

PS3 has yet to release an exclusive JRPG of calibur like the top 3 on your list and PS3 SJRPG sales spank 360 SJRPG sales.

Still though, 360 JRPG lineup is pretty good. Although it is pretty mediocre when you compare it to what we had in the PS2 era.

At this point in it's life cycle, off the top of my head PS2 had.

Final Fantasy X

Shadow Hearts

Dark Cloud 2

Disgaea

Xenosaga

Wild Arms 3

I know there are more, but this is all I can remember at the moment in terms of release.
