I love the series more than the next guy , but you got to admit its not as apealing anymore. some of the biggest titles of the year have already been released ,and sales havent even been close to expectations !

reasons it will fail

-Last gen shooter , when we have games like GearOW ,Halo ,Resistance, and now Killzone we adjust to newer features that are just too hard to downgrade from , like being able to walk/run and shoot.

-Too many horror survivors have already been released for multiple platforms.

-Then again this doesnt count as one anymore , just the fact its co-op makes it a non thriller.

-Potential buyers turned off by demo (like me) .

-Majority of gamers  spent their money on Killzone 2 , Halo wars , StreetFighter, or StarOcean4.

I never knew your opinion affected consumers buying decisions. You clearly state that in your own words you "THINK" that Resident Evil 5 will bomb. Putting the word "think" makes it seem like your opinion. Not just blantly saying "Resident Evil 5 will bomb".

Can you define bombing for RE5? is WW sale of 2 millions copies on both PS360 considered a bomb? 3 millions? 5 millions?

3) You did say the word "will" but where does you factoring in saying Resident Evil 5 will bomb come from"? Obiviously I read your facts and your opinion that's somewhat lacking and confusing. And another point I can see why this thread makes no sense, no one else is posting which obviously is a indicator that you make no sense saying this series will bomb considering Resident Evil 4 is just like Resident Evil 5 and RE4 sold well.

This site seriously needs a blog entry for users. So they can express feelings on a particular game rather than clutter a hot forum topic on the front page.

Why it will not bomb.

-It is not a 'shooter', at least not in the same sense as Gears, Halo, etc

-It's Resident Evil. It's such an esteemed franchise that most non-gamers even know about it (thanks in part to the shitty movies).

-Even if it's not incredible, it will still most likely get very very good (possibly inflated) reviews

-Co-op does not make a game less scary. It wasn't made by idiots.

-You claim potential buyers were turned off by the demo. This is (1) kind of assumed, (2) most people will buy it anyway ("but maybe the full game will be better"), and (3) how do you know that other people were not intrigued by the demo?

-The majority of gamers can afford to buy more than one game a month, especially when one of the games is Resident Evil 5

-This game has ridiculous hype

-Extensive marketing

I'm not speaking for the quality of the game. It might not be very good at all. But Resident Evil 5 is is not going to bomb whatsoever.
