The lower sales for Wii and 360 in Europe and America last week in comparison to the prior week also makes me think PS3 sales were higher than this estimate.

I have been saying that the Wii has been overtracked lately (at least in america) and maybe the numbers are finally correcting themselves.

The 360 and PS3 seem to float between being under and overtracked at times but it usually equals out in the end.

On this weeks numbers I would lean more towards both the 360 and PS3 being overtracked a bit (especially with the state of the economy.)

Actually Magnific0, that is no longer true. Brett has given up his 'other' job, and now all of his income comes from this. VGChartz is now a professional sales site.

And I am going to laugh at you so much when NPD confirms that these numbers are accurate

?  you can laugh all you want, start right now if you like.  But tell me, why should you wait for NPD confimation? Or does the NPD waits for VGC confirmation mmm?? guess not!

I wasn't the one that first mentioned NPD, it was you

*Re-reads thread*

Oh, it was someone else.

Regardless, I have clearly already made up my mind to trust Brett's numbers, rather than wait for confirmtion. However, certain people here, yourself included do not seem to have as much faith in these numbers. So I am merely instructing you that when the NPD releases their estimates, and they are in line with Brett's numbers I will bring this thread back up. And when GG releases shipment details that once again confirm how the OP's 'gut feeling' was wrong, I will raise this thread again.

I've got to ask - if you don't think VGChartz numbers are accurate, why are you here?

I never said I didn't trust VGC numbers, but my stand is you have to take them as "guide". They themselves look up to NDP, Media create, and other sources to validate the accuracy of their own work, so don't point the finger to ME. In my post I only , and only said they were "amateurs" and you went on to create a whole novella of that, I don't know why and I don't care. They're amateurs, that's not an insult or anything "bad", that's just what they are.

You said they've gone "professional" , and I'm not saying they don't do their best to make a professional job. However, until they have CLIENTS in the industry, companies like Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, or any other game publisher/developer using their services for sales tracking, not until then VGC can stand next to NPD or Media Create on the same level.

Dont expect japan like jump, hardware increase will be over time. As some start playing it the people around them will want in. Seeing it played and word of mouth.

Month long sales will tell you more.
