Forums - Sales - Halo Wars wins Australia, beats Killzone 2 and long time staple Wii Fit.

Halo wars came out same day as KZ2 in here in AUS...Im remember that I went to my local game shop at the first day of KZ2 release date and saw halo wars on sale as well.

Australia's buying habits are quite similar to America's really, we're more pro 360 than the rest of Others, so I'm not very surprised by this news

Australia accounts for a very small percentage of the video game sales and the numbers here do not really make much of an impact on the large scale of things.

It surprises me that Halo Wars has outsold Killzone 2 in Australia. I assume the Aussies must of bought Halo Wars thinking wow a new shooter and were disappointed seeing it is an RTS.

^How much did Killzone 2 do in AU?

Cheers for the info boss. That's pretty decent opening sales for down under - 20/150 is hardly insignificant. And yeah, I really don't think anyone thought it was an FPS

A few facts about the Australian market:

- Both Killzone 2 and Halo Wars appeared in MOST stores on the day they were scheduled too.

- Halo 3 sold around 70k the first week and that (for Australia) is an ENORMOUS opening (I think it was actually the biggest opening any game has ever had here.

- Therefore 20k sounds about right, thanks Brett.

- Killzone 2 was VERY close behind Halo Wars.

- The Halo Wars with each console sold promotion only runs for March, and therefor this chart doesn't include those sales. Assuming GFK counts them towards Halo Wars sales (but I don't think they will), bundled sales could keep Halo Wars on top for the month.

Lol, your name's Brett?

Only the leader can change his username, anyway.

What? Who told you that?

"the Halo Wars offer applies to the entire Xbox 360 range of consoles and will run from February 26th to March 26th or until stock runs out."

Hmmm.

I guess that's my mistake then.

But the thing is, no shop was offering it until March.

I couldn't get it before the 1st...

True, though when I picked up Kz2 from EB. A lot of parents were picking up Halo wars for their sons. So I think alot of sad boys will be wanting a true halo game.
