Zack got gunned down because Cloud was "sick" with Mako Poisioning. Of course soon as Zack was dead, he magically recovered and made his way to Midgar. Just like he did with Aerith, he did nothing while some one that he claimed was a friend was murdered. Cloud is a useless whiny tool. Wahh...I was bullied as a kid, wahh Tifa didn't notice me, Wahh...i could make it into soldier, pathetic...

At what point does Cloud actually bitch and whine? None, he just says what happens to him when he was a kid. That's it. It doesn't even whine once the whole game.

Also, Cloud didn't "magically" recover when Zack was gunned down. In CC, he was able to react finally as Zack was walking away and we see Cloud's arm reaching out to Zack as the screen fades to all the soldiers Zack had to fight.

When Aerith died, Sephiroth tried to kill her using Cloud, Cloud resisted, and as he gained control of himself back, Sephiroth had to do it himself.

Fact is the game is love by MANY. No amount of hating can change that. Many are just spiteful to the game because it is not there #1(which is fine), but because everyone is always talking about it they go from "its a great game" to "its not really all that,_____ was better".All of a sudden the game turns to garbage.

reminds me of radio music. you love the new song at first. Yet then the radio keeps playing it over and over. It then seems everywhere u go that same damn song is playing. You become sick of its popularity, and from then on u groan when it comes on and tell ur friends u hate it. That hatred gets into ur friends heads, so they lose interest in it as well. The spawn of resentment has been planted.

dand does anyone else think the ehole "you only think its bette because it was ur first FF" is a moot point? The fact is the other games of the series didnt appeal to the masses enough to garner a playthrough as much as VII. That alone is enough to verify FFVII's superiority to an individual.

I'll be brutally honest here. When I learned that FF7 was going to be on the PS, I felt very betrayed... so betrayed, in fact, that I refused to give it a fair chance. In fact I was so much into putting down the OST and the game, claiming that FF6 was far better.

To this day, I stand behind the view that FF6 and CHRONO TRIGGER are the definitive RPGs of all time. But I no longer begrudge FF7. It can't compare with these two, but I will admit that it DOES have its share of interesting qualities. It IS easy to see why it was as successful as it was, but I truly think it doesn't deserve the title of "best RPG of all time" nor even the "best game of all time". To me, the impact of FF6 was much stronger and I feel it was Square's true magnum opus. So was CT.

I love the game i played the game on ps1, ps2 and as soon it releases on psn in Europe hopefully i will buy it.

Imo it deserved all the sales and hype beacuse its a fantastic game and it will always be remembered as one of the best rpgs ever if not the best :)
