@NM, I was under the impression that PO and SnP2 were core releases

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Too awesome. Monster Games & online racing. I'm sold.

There was nothing that special about the trucks, other than the crashes. As long as this has insane crashes... I'm sold.

Can't wait to see what they did with the ExciteTruck engine, and another years of their time.. :)

S&P2 is indeed, but there are more than enough on-rails shooters on the Wii. Also, Punch-Out should be good, I'm looking forward to it but where are Starfox, Donkey Kong (a proper game, non of this racing or beat shit), F-Zero, 2D Metroid, Kirby, Pikmin (I know those games are rumored but until there on nintendo's release schedule who knows when they'll be finished and actually available), Pilot Wings, buil from the ground up Zelda Wii that was promised, why only 1 good Mario gamer per console considering the NES/SNES all had multiple good proper Mario games, why no Yoshi game, he's had the excellent Yoshi's Island on DS so where's the Wii Yoshi at? Seriously, there is so much potential for Nintendo but they just don't care. What happened to Project Hammer?

Could be waiting another decade for Miyamoto to direct another Wii game. Galaxy was it, unless he directs the Loz reboot

I have to see videos before I judge but I have a feeling this will not be as good as Excite Trucks.

Looks like Monster has heaped an extra pile of crazy onto a game which already had plenty.

I wish ignorant people wouldn't comment on sales. 600k is pretty damn good considering the limited content in Excite Truck. And VGC data isn't even complete on how this sold in EU.

I believe Excite truck is close to 1 million in sales overall, it sold quite well in Europe.... it's probably at least 900k.

The game is being developed by Monster Games, the guys who also previously made ExciteTruck. The game is confirmed to have Wi-Fi connection play for up to 6 players.

I'm sold. I would have been just fine with ExciteTruck 2, but as long as it's the same developer I'm keen. Nice to hear it has online play. Normally I don't care much about online multiplier but I would of killed to have it in ExciteTruck.

BTW the reaction in this thread is hilarious.

Unimpressed and basically a decision I really don't understand.

What the f is wrong with simply making Excitebike Wii?!?

Basically every 3rd party in the world is making kiddy crap for your console and then you decide as Nintendo that what we really need is a reboot of an awesome arcade racer into something with colourfull robots and footballs...

Lighten up Benga, wait for gameplay before you judge.
