Forums - Website Topics - A legitimate question: Why a thread was locked

Might MS be guilty of false advertising with Halo Wars (Moraly)

While i dont quite agree with the OP i do think that this thread had a valid point...

It was a legitimate discution point...

Eventhough the poster might have been a sony fan.. i still believe it was a valid post and i did not see any trolling....

I agree, though I really only think the thread deserved to stay open because of twesterm's ownage in it.

It's no big deal. If 360 owners don't like what they purchased, they can simply return it.

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

Because it wasn't a legitimate question. It was an attempt to troll 360 fans. I can't think of a more obvious flamebait subject quite honestly.

So that was a troll thread.... and this is not? Killzone 2 rant!/Review

Just because you say that you have the system and like one of the games i guess its ok to say that a game saux?

I am actualy shocked that the thread was locked , I did have a legitimate question and simply because 1. I have a Killzone 2 Avatar/Sig . 2. The question could be considered anti-MS , Anti- Halo the thread was locked . It's seriously no shock that twestern locked it .

False advertising is an issue that affects all companies not just MS , so how my thread could be interprited as trolling is beyond me . Criticising MS's business practice to some how assault the XBOX 360 seems a bit far fetched to me , if I wanted to troll on Halo Wars i'd do something like post it's review scores.

People are becoming increasingly sensitive to legitimate questions if they have the potential for flamebait , I can't help how you interprit my questions but the mature poster would see I had no intentions beyond actualy seeing what people felt about it.

I already knew from a legal perspective MS had little to no legal liability in regards to their advertising so I decided to ask the question from a morale perspective.

The ironic thing is that Twestern post's far more controversial thread topics but is alowed to get away with it " I hate PSN Store " , " I hate Home " etc etc.

I couldn't tell you honestly. What is there now is ECC's review of it which seems fair and justified. Given that Garnett was ultimately banned for trolling KZ2 I would say it was probably also just trolling. Then again, I would have locked it and a dozen other KZ2 threads because there is an official topic for it that is being ignored by everyone it seems. Of course this is all academic as I am not a mod, and not the one to point these things out to. I really have no power to help you change it. Try Makingmusic.

Becuase it was a bullshit premise that makes no sense. The KZ2 trailer doesn't show any gameplay footage either, and leaves you with no idea what kind of game it will be. This is true of damn near every game in existence. You don't have a point.

Anyone who is a big enough nerd to play games like Halo (and similar) would be able to make the distinction either online or in the store, there aren't many ways of missing out on which genre the game you're purchasing is.
It doesn't really appear to be an RTS at all when looking at the cover and when you see that video but the above point still stands.
I do, however, agree that it seems strange that the thread was locked entirely, there have certainy been worse threads allowed to live on.
But these things happen, doesn't make too much difference to me.

More evidence of our civil liberties being eroded here on VGChartz!!

Peope are afraid to be negative about anything these days for fear of insulting or offending someone.

You should never be afraid to criticize and speak your mind and opinions, because without them you are no one.

:P

Maybe because it had all been done before?
