Less than one year ago, everybody was thinking (myself too ) that PSP was to a dead end, and strangely USA and Europe hardware stand at low but non negligeable level, and more incredible PSP become second, just after the DS in japan, and the same for Software, sales of PSP software are not ridiculus at all in Japan, now ahead of Wii each week, and there're is now many aaa titles to come each month to keep the momentum till next christmans !

I just hope that the same thing came to europe, with Little big, Resistance, Motorstorm, assassin's Creed, Grand theft auto...

And if the PSP 4000 have a second analogic stick, sure 2009'll be a new start for the PSP

What are the 50 millions PSP owners supposed to do with no second analog stick ? Buy another one ? This would make no sense.

@ BxN: Doesn't the DS do the same thing? Leave a middle ground somewhere and then take away the older versions, pretty much making people "upgrade"?

Maybe with the DSi, but there aren't any games released only for this version. So no, you don't HAVE to upgrade.
