I rented the first RRR, and I think that Boom Blox is miles ahead of it. It is a really fun physics puzzle game. I enjoyed it more in multiplayer.

So you're saying that Boom Blox is miles ahead of a game that was released at launch.  This is impressive in what way?

Unfortunately that launch game is much better.  The RRR games continue to be fun after playing them several times.  Boom Blox gets old within the first day of owning it.  It's fun for a couple of hours until you figure out that you're doing the same four things over and over with horrible controls.

If any game is the same thing over and over again it is RRR.  I'm glad I only rented it because it got old in one night.

There are several different types of minigames. Maybe you don't have a sense of humor or enjoy minigames. The controls also work in the RRR games.

Example:  the lightgun levels in the RRR games are spot on.  The want to be shooting segments in Boom Blox are awful.  You have to shoot like five seconds (slight exaggeration) ahead of time to hit something.  I could go on and on and on with the control problems but I wont.

I get pissed off when people recommend this game.  It makes it look like there are no good games on the Wii.  I am a huge supporter of the Wii and it's quality games.  This is not a quality game.

A lot of us think it is quality. It's a three dimensional shooting game. It is more realistic in the way the firing works. Also, it makes it more of a challenge.

That said, the firing is the worst bit of the game. The other games are superb and the puzzles challenging. Controls nont perfect but good.

Do you have a Balance Board? If not, then getting RRR-TV Party would not be a wise choice.

If you do, then I would make the exchange because it will go back to $50 in the short run while Boom Blox will remain at $30.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

Depends on if you want to play together or alone and if you like puzzles.

Boom Blox has a totally awesome mulitplayer game - but not for long. There's not enough multiplayer levels and you become adept at them quite quickly. However there's a very deep single player with TONs of levels if you like puzzles. If you want it mainly for multiplayer I'd go with RRR:TV Party (on sale!) and get Boom Block Party (the sequel) when it comes out which is more multiplayer focused.

I'd go for Boom Blox as well.

@ baz...  Why is it that people say that it is more realistic when there is a delay to some sort of shooting in a game? Bullets and laser beams travel really quickly. So quicky that there would be no noticable delay. The laser beam in Boom Blox would move at the speed of light. There would be only a 186,000 miles per second delay. That would be realistic.

Good point Amp. I forgot it was lasers.

It would be so easy though that section if it wasn't delayed. Maybe they should have left that part out. There's enough in the game without it.

I know you hate it, but at least it something different, eh? Better than a billion and one shooters, I say.

Yeah. But they decided to make a huge section of the game a shooter and a really bad on at that. It's not that I hate the ideas in Boom Blox. I just though that the execution was terrible. Maybe the sequel will be better, but I'm so turned off by it that I'll never know.

If you like horrible graphics, imprecise controls, and terrible music than keep Boom Blox. If you play games because you are into having fun than get the new RRR game. It's hysterical. Boom Blox is by far the most overrated game on the Wii. You'll enjoy playing it for a couple of hours and than never play it again because it gets so boring so quick. EA and Steven Speilberg should be ashamed of themselves. People that recommend this game should be even more ashamed of themselves.

Exactly the same what I'm thinking about this game.. even if I bought it new just for 9 Euros at amazon.de : )

I am puzzled about the comment about imprecise control since in Boom Blox you actually lock the aiming point and the physics will respond to the hit occuring in that precise location. I'm not really sure how any game could have more precise control than that. If you missed that point, I can see where you would not care for the game. If you master the controls, the challenge of figuring the exact aiming point in more and more complex puzzles will provide a great deal more than a few hours entertainment.

Treat it like a target practice game with elaborate targets and it will get old very fast. Treat it as a physic problem game and you'll enjoy for a long time.
